the problem with ronald emmerichs films,its very commercial, alot of eye-candy with a very little substance.
but i have to give it to him, the eye-candy in this film looks amazing :-)

I think you might be confusing it with the sci-fi 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was a completely different movie. The only sequel to that was 2010: The Year We Make Contact, which was a pretty underrated movie.

I think that all this stuff about the end of the world in 2012 is just a publicity stunt to many upcoming products..and this movie is one of them

The internet is stupid.
The Mayan calendar simply stipulated the end of our times, era dominae into the era aquarius, which got mistranslated into the end of times later in the historical record.
Really retarded looking movie. Like 90 minutes of non stop crappy CGI.
