“The Shining” Sequel

Stephen King is writing a sequel to The Shining and it will be based 40 years later and focus around Danny (the young boy from the original). I haven’t read the original book but loved the movie so not sure how I feel about a sequel since the first question that pops up into my mind is who would direct it if it ever got turned into a movie? The original was directed by Stanley Kubrick who passed away back in 1999. [Link]

Stanley Kubrick was great, but The Shining also had a great cast and crew – from the actors, to editors, to production designers – even locataion was great – the movie score is flawless.

A sequel would be interesting – I just hope they don’t view it as a money generating blockbuster and just try to keep it simple and dark.

the use of space in that movie was so amazing. also, the child in it just gave it this chilly dimension – same thing used by the makers of the Grudge years later.
I would like to see a seequel, but am not putting too much expectations.

It doesn’t have to be filmed like most of good Stephen Kings books. The Dark Tower series. So, buy the book.
