Pandora Rules!
Last week I posted a link to a new service called Pandora which can help you discover new music by telling it what artists or songs you like. I got my invite to the service today and the first thing I did was tell it I liked “Kid Loco”. Within a few seconds they introduced me to a song I had never heard of before, Afro Halo by Magic Arrows. The song was really fucking cool and it really is similar in style and sound to Kid Loco. When the song was done it gave me another cool song by another musician and when that was done another. Non stop music all similar in style and sound to Kid Loco.
At the moment you can only get into Pandora by invite so go give them your email address and they should email you an invite within a week. Here is a link to Pandora’s website. [Link]

I got my invite today too and it rocks! I first typed in Massive Attack and then cool songs were played! Like by Goldfrapp, Portishead, Emilianna Torrini, etc. Mostly trip hop music. There’s even this one Indian song which kinda sounded like trip hop and I loved it!

then type kid loco you should like it. i grew from trip hop to downbeat. i still listen to a bit of triphop just not as much as before. Downbeat just sounds a lot newer.

Works like a charm. I’m too blinkered in my musical tastes though, and everytime it suggest something new, I can’t bring myself to like it :S
