60 car pileup in the UAE

I’ve heard of huge pileups like this before but I don’t think its ever happened in the Gulf before. Yesterday a major accident happened on the Dubai - Abu Dhabi highway. Weather conditions were foggy and slippery and people were still speeding so when the first accident occurred a chain reaction followed resulting in the huge 60 car pileup. They originally said it was a 200 car pileup but I guess that was just an original estimate. You can check out pictures and details on the accident [Here]

60 cars goes beyond merely an accident. a 60 car pileup shows you that most drivers on the road are braindead morons which i guess is true especially in this part of the world.

Speachless…. I know this is going to sound nasty.. but Im surprised this didn’t happen in Kuwait considering the way we drive here…

it was very bad fog, 10 to 20 m visibility only and many people have no idea what it means to drive in thick fog.

It’s a misleading article as usual, today in Al-Khaleej newspaper it was 200 cars, 20 of which were burnt, 347 injuries, and 3 dead. Three! What a proportionate number; 20 cars were burnt to the ground for cryin’ out loud!
The only thing that makes you wonder is the amount of idiots driving at 100 km/H+ in this situation.

They had a similar accident about 4 years ago because of the fog, I saw how people there use the highway, they don’t have the same speed limits like we do and they have very rude drivers.
