hay , john i understand the islamic part but please understand that were not all islamic and please explain the bad internet speed the only way etisalat(sucks) makes money becouse its an opresion there are no alternative companys du on the other hand will be rejected by the goverment if they dont block sites and etisalats internet sucks terribly if your gonna block sites than give us good internet eg. to load a vid on you tube it takes about 10 min to upload a 6 min vidio and i visited america 3 days ago and through you didint even wait for it to load it loaded soo fast not like etisalat i thought uae was rich , spend billions on blocking porn and nothing on spead and this other day i called them and they told me “god willing weel come and fix your internet speed” and they didint come i called again and the operater assured me they would come the fallowing day they didint come i hade to drive thare and ask for the manager i told himi wouldint pay the bill and i litterly told the technician to get into my car and i took him home so that he could fix the speed problem when when arrrived he said he couldint fix it i looked for sat internet on the internet but ilt illigal in the uae this country will eventualbecome like north korea

Deeply disappointed after coming over here about these sites being blocked. I have a way of by-passin their VERY arrogant way of blocking things they don’t like. The internet was made for freedom of speach and equal oppertunity but they even try to block skype, and the only reason they do that is because of their extreme greed and lust for money. I won’t give it long before another company comes and everyone will instantly move to that company as etisalat have monopolised the market and are abusing their power, and forcing their VERY dated moral’s onto others.

First of all I have an experienced backround in networking/IT.

I’m not gonna get into advanced details,however;

Etisalat is the worst ISP I have ever seen.

Secondly they offer a service sub par to anything i’ve ever seen.

Third of all it offers the shittiest peering/routing i’ve ever seen.

Fourthly they’re stealing my money.

One day, just one day I hope an American ISP enters the middle eastern market, and rapes the shit out of every middle eastern own piece of crap ISP, then I will have my peace.

Talal, ur a big liar… Etisalat is not blocking youtube in Khalidia in AD!! I live there in Dana Plaza Building and to all of u suckers who say that its a new development (Khalidia is one of the oldest areas in AD) N NO IT DIDN”T BLOCK IT! N hey, for u torrent users, well, here is an idea, GO USE SHAREAZA! its good too! torrents sux! takes a lot of time esp when s/l gets lower (Which sooner or l8er will happen)!

As for u johN, saint of etisalat, sweetheart, go kick urself in the nuts, we hv prostitution allowed here but such other sites (Yes sm other sites are blocked for no fucking reason)! When u ask users who are working there (SUCH AS U LOL) they go like, there is smthn that isn’t appropriate to c in that website… Well guess what honey, why doesn’t the “inappropriate” seeings everywhere gets blocked if thats the rule!

N Hey, Etisalat is a theif too! Y? Come n compare it with all the arabian n gulf countries n EU countries n USA, etc! They never gave us any offer! Absolutely no offer BE4 DU came! Can u deny that sucker?

Why you guys hate Etisalat so much.
Please do not forget that UAE is not a european country. Etisalat is owned by more than 70% by the UAE goverment and this is the wish of the GOV, that is it.

The government authorities have all rights to decide what is blocked and what is not.
Therefore, Etisalat has nothing to do with it. I work for etisalat and I can assure you, as an expat we do everything possible to help the web users.

Please just remember that you are “VISITING” and “LIVING” in an ISLAMIC country ruled by a crown prince federal government controlled from abu dhabi.

Once you have this in picture, you will understand why etisalat react as such.

Etisalat has blocked all MAJOR torrent sites such as The pirate bay, torrentspy, and many many others.. None of my friends can connect to the TPB no1 can download movies anymore unless we use ratio sites which are pure crap.. this sucks… on the other hand friends of mine in the Greens are able to connect to TPB as their connection is DU

etisalat has got issues they probably reserve the sites for their own use so the can be freaks.

Etisalat sucks, yes sure. No argument. Du is going to suck as well, since it’s partly owned by the goverment and the whole blocking sites thing goes along with the “country values…etc”, which is most cases does not make a good ecxuse for blocking certain sites.

I never get bored from sending them hate mails expressing their stupidity.

Hey! Soemtimes the sites get unblocked. But then, back to blocking them all over again.

It’s all f*cked up, anyway.

i wonder who owns etisalat…whoever he is, he has succeded in ripping off everyone who owns a computer or cellfone in the UAE…and du is another piece of shit, theyre not gonna offer better prices, just different packages (eg charging by a bandwith limit or something of the sort)
