Lebanon in ‘Hummus’ War with Israel

Hummus

This sounds like something from “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan” which by the way was extremely funny. [Link]

    Well-said highsky.

Lets not forget that the Palestinians eat all that as well- Hummus became an Israeli stable thanks to the Palestinians who live there. Its foodie’s haven with the most delectably-diverse cuisine that comes from the many who’ve made Israel their home.

Lebanon is living on uneven ground with its people being the only resource it has (they’re leaving quickly too). It should keep that in mind and quit jeopardizing its situation. I just hope the Israelis laugh this one off vs bombing, Lebanon to oblivion.

Seriously.. like wtf?! The trouble-maker who said that needs to be hung and shot just in case. May Uncle Osama crash a million planes into his face.

seriously . ..when israel sells hummus and use Lebanon as an origin they show to the world how friendly and decent they are coz they didn’t ignore the assumed source of hummus in their own point of view even with their enemies!
on the other hand Lebanese ppl will sue them world wide!:).. they show to the world how aggressive they r .all the countries in the arab world sells taboula fatoosh hummos and maybe in europe and americas why its ok with lebanon! so israel proofs that people in lebanon hate them even when they do free marketing for lebanese special tasty hummus!

Hillarious, war of the Hummus, the next war will be fought with chickpeas and tahina, I bet we can beat israel on taste, presentation and variety, Hummus Beiruti, Hummus and Awarma, Hummus and Muhammara, Hummus Jabali, so whether we are not the creator of the recipee we are by far the innovators and when it comes to tasty hummus, no one can beat us.

Actually, the israelies can take a visit to Marks & Spencers UK and check what is the label of the Hommous “Greek Hommous” … the stuffed grape leaves and falafel are also not labeled israele…

I dont think they mean its a jewish reciepe… its just a claim its an israelie one. b3dain israelie israelie if it originated in israel o israel shouldnt exit then it means its a palestinian recipe … right? fa khalas

Reminds me of West Bank Story.

    http://www.westbankstory.com/

“A musical comedy set in the fast-paced, fast-food world of competing falafel stands in the West Bank… David, an Israeli soldier, falls in love with the beautiful Palestinian cashier, Fatima, despite the animosity between their families’ dueling restaurants. Can the couple’s love withstand a 2000 year old conflict and their families’ desire to control the future of the chic pea in the Middle East? “

I remember 2 years ago at Birmingham University they had some kind of festival called the Jewish Week or something like that (or was it Jewish Day?). Two of the main events during that festival were a camel with the Israeli flag on its back, and a tent which was selling Falafel!

Let’s face it, Israel has no real culture to brag about, and that’s why they are ’stealing’ it from others. I’ve always thought the only way to defeat Israel is with cultural war not military war, but who is willing to listen?!

    hehehe its full with hummus..
but to be honest if im hummus :) i will choose Lebanon since they own the land for ages and hummus created in this area while israel occupying others land and stealing their identity ..who can believe that people from poland and Russia who r living in Israel invented hummus!

  27. 27. 1/4 Lebanese | October 12th, 2008 at 8:45 am

Hummus is Turkish. All mashawi are Turkish. Lebanese and Syrian are all copied from the Turks for some reason:P i think they were turkish colonies or something! not sure;)

  28. 28. omar | October 31st, 2008 at 6:58 am

why can’t we say, Hummus is an ARABIC dish? How hard is it?

Dolma (Stuffed vine leaves) is Turkish
    Feta is Greek
