RIP Roy Scheider
I just found out from CNN that Roy Scheider has passed away. He wasn’t one of my favorite actors but I never minded him and he actually was the lead star on many of my favorite movies and tv shows including Jaws, 2010: The Year We Make Contact and SeaQuest DSV. Sucks. [Link]

Damn, I loved him in Seaquest! He was THE captain, after Jean Luc Pickard!

Roy Scheider had a strong role as Gene Hackman’s sidekick in the 1971 Best Film Winner THE FRENCH CONNECTION. He was also great as a cop in THE SEVEN UPS (which was also produced by the CONNECTION team and included another great car chase). Some other memorable roles included MARATHON MAN, BLUE THUNDER, SORCEROR and ALL THAT JAZZ (for which he was nominated as Best Actor).
JAWS of course was his most memorable role.
