AKG K81 DJ

Just got my new headphones today. I ordered the AKG K81 DJ to replace my Sennheiser PX100 since i needed “closed back” headphones for work. They are currently being burned into as they need around 50 hours before the sound starts to settle. Once they are ready and I use them for about a week I will post a review.

wow man! how much did it cost?
70$ and they are only 32ohms which means they will run easily using the ipod.
The headphones look great i must say! im using a crappy altec lansing headphones which didnt quite perform upto my expectations and ive been planning to replace with something better.let me know how these headphones fare.
I got the Zalman headphones and I love them! How do you burn them in exactly? Do u put a song or something on for two days on repeat or what?

i have music playing over non stop for like 3 days at a decent volume..
What so special about it ?
well the sound obviously. its hard if not impossible to find closed back headphones for under $100 that sound decent yet alone good. these AKG’s are not only supposed to have a decent soundstage but also a good amount of lows which is important for me.
I can’t use my studio-headphones at work .. the qitra/3qal gets in the way. Settling for the cheap white things that came with my ipod.
[...] After nearly 40 hours of burn in, the AKG’s are starting to sound really cool. The headphones are light and comfortable, my previous closed back headphones were the Technics DJ1200 and those were very uncomfortable and would hurt my ears after long use. The AKG’s so far are comfortable BUT the only problem I have is that they are barely fitting me. AKG is an Austrian company and I don’t know any Austrians but I am guessing they all have small heads because I have the headphones now expanded to the largest size and they are just barely fitting me perfectly. Other then that no complaints.. so far. Filed under: Personal, Music, Gadgets Posted by Mark on 08.16.06 | Related Entries [...]
