FREITAG

I have been looking for a new bag for my MacBook for what seems like forever. I am currently using my original ibook bag which I got back in 2001, its the Vertigo bag by Waterfield Designs. Its a nice practical bag but not funky at all. But after a long search I think I found the coolest bag and its a FREITAG.
FREITAG bags are made from original, used truck tarpaulins, bicycle innertubes, car seat belts and used airbags. Each bag is one of a kind and they have a whole range of sizes, colors and models. I am currently leaning towards the F21 NIGHTCLUB model since my MacBook would fit snuggly inside it. The problem is there are soo many choices to choose from and each bag is very different. I am having a hard time choosing a bag plus the pictures on the site aren’t that good.
Anyway check the site out by clicking on the link. Below this I have a bunch of pictures I found online that show how grungy and cool the bags are. I think the concept is really smart. [Link]

Not only are they funky and unique, they have been recycled! That is an amazing find. Go for which ever one suits your taste. Personally I love them all. And I’m proud to that you would use something made from recycled material… People Mark is a great example… learn from him!

The most important thing for a bag is to have cushioned edges incase you drop it.
10. Mark | July 30th, 2006 at 11:09 pm
well it doesnt have cushioned edges, but i have my waterfield design sleeve for the macbook which is very cushioned :)

one thing i can say is… that you’re getting something that you want and not going for what everyone else has and getting the same. shows you’re a leader, not a follower. Kudos to that Mark!

those are all pretty cool! Especially if you can design your own bags! I would make one just to have a funky looking one!

Frietags are amazing. I have one in London. They’re unknown here but they are quite common in Europe. Nice choice - you’ll love it.

…”unknown here” meaning in Kuwait, where I’m on vacation! :)

I ended up getting a BOOQ bag for my macbook, though I was originally looking at the Cargo combo from WaterField. I needed something a little more practical since I’d be carrying it to work every day.

I think the Freitag is a great choice. I have been using one of them for my Laptop bag for the last two years and it’s ideal. You will need the cushioned sleave to absorb the inevitable knocks. Plus you have the bonus that the bag weathers and softens overtime .. almost like a fine wine
