Held in customs

It’s either this or pay a shit load of money and use DHL. I’m being patient and going with Aramex instead. It’s frustrating having something stuck in customs for 10 days but it beats paying an arm and a leg with DHL.

This is exactly what happening to my items now.

I don’t know it seems you save money from some place and put somewhere else, like each one of these 4 has atleast 13kd.

I don’t defend DHL they miss informed and scamed costomer, speacialy that there offers isnt on papers that is way you cant even complain on them. though their volumetric weight is second best value. maybe you could try when ordering to ask them to put the things in a box with best fit. this what the extra information area is for.

In the end good service isnt free. And you will never find any marchent in kuwait that is 100% fair greed filling the market.

Rather be patient. You will eventually get your items.DHL is a HUGE RIP-OFF.They show you one price on their website and another that includes exorbitant custom fees when you collect your goods.Canon g11-shipping cost incl customs 23KD.LCD screen protector 12.5KD.It cost me 9$ incl.from Amazon.

I still use DHL over Aramex (DHL Express not easyshop)

Kuwait customs is awful… I had a pair of plain rubber croc shoes sit at customs for 3 months once. It took so long that I gave up on them and reordered them so now I have 2 pairs.

The best thing is to find a friend that has access to a US APO address. I can get an item from amazon in the US to Kuwait in 7 days and bypass Kuwaiti customs entirely thus relieving the headache entirely.

  6. Bob Long Dong says:

That is if Kuwaiti customs doesn’t steal your items first.

Ive had two packages get opened and had items missing out of it when it got to me (DVDs, DVD player, Ipod)

  7. B_G_T_R says:

we need a new approach for kuwaiti customs……but given the politics in kuwait, i think they will remain forever a mess

  8. fns says:

My item is held at customs where i use ARAMEX! I guess it’s the customs which is doing all of this.

  9. greak says:

I think this is due the 5 day holiday, I’ m pretty sure that they(customs) didnt show up for work the whole of last week either.

  11. Yousif says:

i agree Aramex is the worst of the bunch

  12. DHL says:

OMG if you don’t like Aramex DON’T use them, but STOP complaiting a lot!!!!!

Like KA Fan said, you get what you PAY for.

  13. Ralph says:

Oh ya, 2 calendars from from Amazon for 10$ each were charged 21 KD at the customs, DHL are a joke.

  14. hilaliya says:

I always receive free corporate merchandise promoting our company, and many times stuff gets missing when returned from customs (cups, keychains, hats etc) when we get it back.

No, assholes, examining the merchandise doesnt entitle you to freebies!

  15. Raj says:

This is really frustrating. I ordered a camcorder and it landed in kuwait customs hands on the 18th. Today still shows the same status. Looks like customs went on a long leave.

  16. Rafeek says:

Guys, so if “Aramex is the worst” and “DHL are a joke”, what should we do? :D
    Back to USWS?

    To Bob Long Dong

Employees at Agility have access to an APO.

I ordered omega 3 and vitamine C by aramex,, they were held in ministry of health for 5 weeks, when i got them ,, the seals around the cover were not even broken. which means they haven’t checked what inside the bottles. so why did they keep them for that long??? does it take 5 weeks to read what is written on the bottles??

  19. Jacqui says:

I am waiting to see when they would privatize Kuwait Customs maybe then we could see some sense put into their heads. Now that they are part of the governmental sector it seems that nothing can go right, same as with our schooling system, hospitals, etc etc etc :/

I have stopped using DHL simply because I’d rather not pay by signing off my unborn child to them :/ The prices have really risen since the last time we used them but they sure are quick and efficient in their tracking system *sigh*

Hi mark, which application you are using for your iphone that shows the above screen shot?

  21. oshkosh says:

Good. I thought I was the only one facing this problem. My iPod is still waiting to get released since 21, not to mention that it was delivered to the US box on 8/2.

  22. MrEngineer says:

USWS: you will wait 1-2 months to get your items from the date that it arrives your US address (happen to me with the last 4 shipments)

  23. Mohammed says:

im using USWS and they are amazing…. i ordered 2 google phones with 2 docking stations… on mid feb…i got them today :) they reached kuwait on Thursday but due to holidays it was late till today
    cost 14 kd

  24. ahmad says:

even buying needs a wasta these days ifffffffffff

  25. BAJS says:

Tried to resist but in all honesty I am too impatient to use Aramex. Half a month is too long. So yeah I am still using DHL.

  26. Sulaiman says:

I had a shipment from DHL… Its fast.. But they must have changed their pricing scheme…
So, my plan now, if I need it fast (and its light), I’ll go DHL… Aramex otherwise.
Cost me 120 KD for 12 Kilos… they were 4 separate shipments, arriving together.

  27. Sulaiman says:

Also… I don’t know whats the problem with their website… Sometimes items disappear, and they don’t show tracking info anymore (no airway bill)…???

  28. ginane says:

Forget Aramex, a normal laptop(it’s even through a GOLDEN CORP. ACCOUNT!)took me 15 days which is coming only from Dubai. Their CS never calls back to update unless you will scream at them(after calling 6x in the morning) or tell them you will attack them on blogs.

  29. Bob Long Dong says:

    To B_G_T-R and Jacqui

Is Kuwait politics and the government are so bad why don’t Kuwaitis change it. This is a small country and if the Kuwaiti people really wanted it they could stand up and shake off all the red tape and B*llshit. Petition the Ahmir or something…. if all of his people were constantly vocal about their unhappiness with how the country is run I think he would do something about it.

This country has gotten worse every year that I have been here (10 years now)…. You need wasta to get anything done these days.

  30. Mark says:

So my wiring harness which has been in customs for like just 2 days got cleared but my garmin gps which has been in customs for nearly 2 weeks still is stuck therE!

  31. M.A.D says:

    same thing here….:(
my last shipment reached kuwait on the 18th of feb
    still waiting …
    Zzzzzzzzzzzz

  32. Hamachi says:

I remember when I started ordering from Amazon in the late 90′s, the customs weren’t such a pain in the neck, I think what they are doing now is a scheme by merchants who control the government, to dissuade people from ordering stuff from abroad. It sucks…

  33. Ron says:

USWS is the worst of all. Some months back i ordered a pair of ladies shoes from UK and recd a mail from USWS after 1 week that i need to pay 20 kwd customs on shoes costing 10 kwd. Spoke to the staff and even the manager but they were of no use. They have the worst tracking system and customer service. I decided to say goodbye to USWS forever and opened an account with Aramex and DHL same day. Looks like all 3 are a nightmare and i thgt things wud be better but its getting worse. We are left with no choice but to tolerate this stupidity and keep shun .

    Cheers
    Ron
