In my opinion and from my experience with both P.C's and Mac's I have found that the Macbook Pro out performs most pc laptops. I'm currently using my 2yr old macbook pro and it's still as good as the first day I bought it ;) I have to say im not surprised that the new macbooks are cheaper, apple finally trying to get into the sub-$1000 market especially with todays economy however the macbook pro prices haven't changed and it'll be interesting to see if they can keep up the strong pace of sales at their prices that are considered premium to the market. Apple offered matt and glossy displays for the Pro series before this update. I am sure they decided to ditch the matt because not so many are buying them. I think this is a good update in general. Better graphics, new design, LED display, and better chase. The new manufacturing process by itself gives an excellent quality product. I guess it is about mass market now.
