Low Carb
I started a diet early last month, a no junk food diet. By junk food I meant I would no longer eat at the following place: Hardees, McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Texas Chicken and any other similar place. Since I started that diet I gained 2KG because I ended up replacing burgers and fries with chicken and rice, a lot of rice.
So, I decided to try the no carb diet because it sounded easy. I am now on the second day of the diet and its killing me. I am like fantasizing about eating bread, thats how lame I am at the moment. I really feel like having a huge ass burger right now…
update: I learned today the following items have carbs:
- Chocolate Milk
- Hardees Apple Pie
- Baskin Robbins ice cream
- Chocolate Cheese Cake
- Nuts
and that sugar = carbs
update2: I have a MAJOR headache!

Hardees does have the low-carb burger , simply they replace the bread with a big lettuce ,

keep it up mark, the rice really fattens you up. The main vice of getting thin is CARBS, it’s always in your way. Work out, and keep your carbs low.

Try the south beach diet, its the best!! It is hard the first 2 weeks (phase 1) but later you are allowed to have whole wheat bread / brown rice in small quantities along with low glycemic fruits like green apple (one a day). I used to stuff a thin brown arabic bread with a double whopper or a big mac and kept losing a week. You can also have sugar free jello and chocolates from sultan.

Honestly, this is the first time I heard a diet that contains rice. Try and ask about the Dry Diet or as we call it “El Regem El Nashef”. With that you get to eat 5 to 6 small meals per day. Oh, and always go with the grilled…always.
Best of luck Mark ^_^

Its funny seeing everybody toss their opinion. everyone is different, some lose weight quickly, like me.
I lost 70kg in my life, alhamdula 3ala il 9i7a wal 3afya.
But I gain weight quickly too! so quick, easy 10kg in 2.5 weeks
and i could loose 10kg in 3 weeks too lol
but remember, always take carbs and fats, not saturated though. without fat, ur putting all ur internal organs at risk.
other than that, you need carbs with omega 3 acids, you can find them in rice. The problem with our people is we rely on diet even though we dont move around, you have to move around.
this is my rule, this is how i run my life. If i am satisfied about the amount of workout ive done in any given day, that’s including alot of walking around campus etc. etc. etc. i can always present myself with any meal of my own choice.
been doing it for a year, beautiful, maintaining my weight the way i want it.

Interesting :D
Keep it up …. although i dunno why anyone goes on a diet … i don’t, just know when and how much to eat and that’s it …
I only have lunch and dinner and no snacks .. i have been the same weight for ages now .. up or minus a couple of grams aeverynow and then.

if calories in
13. moocherx | February 4th, 2007 at 2:02 pm
if calories in “IS LESS THAN” calories out, you’ll lose weight. You CAN eat carbs, and you need to for energy. But you must go for complex carbs (brown rice/pasta (they have it at ninos), vegetables, wholewheat bread). Plus whoever said drink a lot of water is right. And excercise your flabby ass! You will be surprised how quickly you can get in shape doing a SLOW jog for 30 minutes a day. I’ll jog along Gulf St. with you if you want some motivation.
seems your blog doesn’t like the symbol for ‘less than’ hence the diet-version of this comment, above.

a carb free diet can be bad for the system,
i suggest you have carbs like rice or pasta before noon. also there are slow release carbs like oatmeal that release sugar into the blood stream slowly so that you dont get the “sugar highs” while on a diet.
and the most important thing if you wanna lose weight is to have your last meal of the day just after sundown. after that if you are still hungry try a handful of nuts, or carrots or celery(0% fat)
ALL THE BEST !!
15. Mark | February 4th, 2007 at 2:19 pm
I am only attempting the low carb diet for just 5 days. I am just hoping to lose the 2KG I gained and learn more about carbs. So far I have a major headache and cravings for the strangest things.

I’m continuing a diet that i did for a month a while ago and it worked and I lost 7 Kilos , so here it is :
*No Soft frinks ( pepsi, coke , etc…) not even the diet thing,Its a rippoff
*For breakfast I eat anything but with only one bun.
*On Lunch, each day , you can eat a grilled item ( fish, meat, Chicken) up to 500 grams per meal , plus all the veggies you want
*On dinner , Its better if you don’t have it , but if you’re hungry you can eat yogurt or any white cheese
*Lastly, you do this for 6 days and on the 7th you get a free day ( eat whatever you want) and then you repeat it again
It worked for me and I don’t do ANY exercise so y don’t u try it
17. moocherx | February 4th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
oh yeah… that thing Mirooooooooo (?) said about 1 day off is totally true. if you are STRICT about eating correctly days 1-6, on the 7th day you can literally eat what you want. You could eat 10 big macs if you wanted.
18. moocherx | February 4th, 2007 at 2:36 pm
Also, if you want to try a course of Clenbuterol (look it up) I can get it for you in Bangkok next week.

21. sono | February 4th, 2007 at 2:46 pm
“and the most important thing if you wanna lose weight is to have your last meal of the day just after sundown”
Bullshit. As long as you track your cals and eat less that what your body requies; you will lose weight. Eat 12*(body weight in lbs). If you are 200 lbs then eat 12*200= 2400 cals and you should lose a pound a week without any excercise. Add 500 cals a day of excercise and you’ll lose 2 pounds a week of pure fat. when weightloss stalls, use 11 instead of 12 to determine how much you need to eat.
Good luck

I advise you not to mess with Clenbuterol or DNP. Incorrect dosage is fatal.
23. holla | February 4th, 2007 at 3:54 pm

Sono: you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. It DOES matter WHEN you eat. Every fitness professional (including myself) will tell you that. Carb loading in the morning is the most effective, because your body needs energy during the day. At night, your metabolism slows and so your body doesn’t burn the carbs as energy… some are stored as fat. And on the Clenbuterol front…. if you have coronary heart disease it can be fatal. But at the end of the day, it’s simply a chemical that promotes thermogenesis in your body. Well, so does coffee but I’d hardly call that fatal either.
Please don’t misinform.

go for “stone age diet” where you eat everything
32. Zed | February 4th, 2007 at 10:07 pm
FYI, the brain need 50g of carbs daily to function properly
33. Equalizer | February 4th, 2007 at 10:24 pm
I see many complain about gaining weight fast. Very simple explanation, if you lose weight too fast the body goes in starvation mode and thus reduces metabolism. The best target is to lose 1 kilo per week MAX. This will ensure that your metabolism stays high so that when you eat freely your body will not save it for later in the form of fat!
34. moocherx | February 5th, 2007 at 7:01 am
Zed - does the brain still need as much as 50g of carbs if you work in advertising? ;-)
35. sono | February 5th, 2007 at 9:36 am
Moocherx:
From my experience, most fitness professionals (including yourself) don’t know what the hell they are talking about.
“For starters, there are more rodent studies under the sun that show clenbuterol use can cause significant cardiac hypertrophy?so many in fact that I?m not even going to bother citing them. Just type ?clenbuterol? and ?cardiac hypertrophy? into Google if you don?t believe me; no lie, it?s a little unsettling. However, clenbuterol also kills fat cells (adipocyte apoptosis) in rodents too, and it sure doesn?t in humans, so take that animal data for what it?s worth. Unfortunately though, things don?t look too much better when we move up the evolutionary chain and start looking at hearts in good-ole? human beings either.
For example in 1998, the internal medicine outpatient clinic at the University of Alabama Birmingham received a walk-in from a previously healthy 26-year-old bodybuilder complaining of significant chest pains. The man, who had a history of moderate anabolic steroid use but who had not used any steroid preparations in the weeks leading up to his visit, revealed that he had continuously been using clenbuterol for nearly a month [Loki?s note: idiot]. During check-up, the man turned out to be completely fit and healthy with the only exception being a significant amount of left ventricle (heart) hypertrophy and cardiac dyskinesias (meaning distortion of muscle [in this case smooth muscle] activity)(20).”
Myocardial infarction (HEART ATTACK!) in a 17-year-old body builder using clenbuterol.Kierzkowska B, Stanczyk J, Kasprzak JD.
Department of Paediatric Cardiology, Institute of Paediatrics, Medical University Lodz, Poland.
A case of non-Q myocardial infarction in a previously healthy 17-year-old body builder, who used clenbuterol, a long-acting beta(2) adrenergic agonist with anabolic and lipolytic effects, is reported. Only 1 case report of myocardial infarction associated with the use of clenbuterol was found in a literature review and that case was, however, associated with anabolic steroid use. This is the first case report to describe myocardial infarction in a young male body builder only taking clenbuterol.
The biochemical effects of clenbuterol: with particular reference to taurine and muscle damage.
Waterfield CJ, Jairath M, Asker DS, Timbrell JA.
Department of Toxicology, School of Pharmacy, University of London, UK.
Administration of clenbuterol to rats in the drinking water over a 4 day period increased incorporation of [3H]leucine into muscle protein and caused a slight reduction in urinary 3-methylhistidine but did not result in an increase in body or muscle weight. However, both urinary and liver taurine were significantly reduced at the highest dose of clenbuterol (2 mg.kg-1.day-1). Serum creatine kinase, muscle isoenzyme (CK-MM) was raised and single muscle fibre injury was observed in the soleus muscle in animals treated with the middle dose (0.2 mg.kg-1.day-1) and highest dose (2 mg.kg-1.day-1). The reduction in the body pool of taurine caused by clenbuterol is of concern as taurine has been shown to have protective properties.
So much for the “it’s simply a chemical that promotes thermogenesis in your body”.
Please don’t misinform.

Sono: a typical response from someone who doesn’t know facts, is to always quote medical documents where people don’t take medication at the prescribed levels - i.e. overdose. Everyone who knows, know clenbuterol should be taken on a cycle… well, to be honest I can’t be bothered to go into it.
But the way you misrepresent FACTS by quoting things about rats and guys who overdose - well, guess what, you can overdose on paracetamol too! Should we stop taking that if we need to relieve a headache?
Too much caffeine causes:
Cause irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias)
Increase the heart rate
Increase the rate of breathing
Increase the force of the heartbeat
Raise levels of stress hormones
Raise blood pressure, temporarily
(see, I can copy and paste from online documents too…)
But should we close down cafes?
Clenbuterol promotes thermogenesis in your body. Fact. It is entierly safe if dosage is recommended and supervised by a healthcare professional. Fact.
37. moocherx | February 5th, 2007 at 11:13 am
p.s. didn’t you hear about the woman in the USA who died from drinking too much water a couple of weeks ago? hey everyone - Sono says we should all stop drinking water! We could DIE!!
38. Abdullah Al-Falah | February 5th, 2007 at 1:01 pm
hey iv been on it for more than a year now and if you need any help im willing to help you out ,, i lost 35 KG … lemme know if you need anything ;PpP
39. sono | February 5th, 2007 at 1:50 pm
Evidence shows that Clenbuterol causes heart hypertrophy and in small doses too (I have the studies if you want them). Plus the long term effects of using are unknown. Don’t bullshit me about cycles because even if the halflife of the drug is short, it still leaves alot of residual traces in the liver (again, i have the studies) Want to call that safe? Be my guest. Just don’t promote using it to others.
Don’t misinform.

Sono… this is like arguing in French to a guy who only understands Swahili, so I’ll keep it short.
As a sufferer or asthma since age 7, I have extensively researched the topic since about age 16 and regularly attend asthma clinics in the UK to understand the latest treatments and developments in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (that’s asthma, to you). As a beta 2-sympathomimetic bronchodilator, Clenbuterol has proven to increase Peak Expiratory Flow Rate used alone or in conjunction with the commonly prescribed albuterol sulfate inhaler. With no side effects. Likewise, steroids are also used as a preventative asthma treatment, particularly inhaled glucocorticosteriod medications (incidentally, I take this daily, and the albuterol sulfate as required). Yet steroid abuse also causes negative effects on a small number of people. Despite this, steroids are used as a long-term treatment without children or adults keeling over dead in the middle of the detergent aisle of the supermarket on a daily basis (though it would make parking in Sultan Centre much easier).
As a regularly-administered treatment worldwide, Clenbuterol is safe. If it’s not, you are accusing the world’s top experts and medical professionals of peddling drugs that kill. I think that’s very brave of you, and if you truly believe it I suggest you submit your research to the BMJ to see if they’ll publish it - of just laugh and use it to mop up the deadly coffee stains on their desks.
Fact is… Clenbuterol has a number of benefits unrelated to the safe treatment of asthma. One is to increase lung capacity, allowing sports-people to abuse the drug as a performance-enhancer for running, swimming and so on. And as I’ve already mentioned - which is the main point here - it has a thermogenic capacity, meaning that it promotes a higher core body temperature (around perhaps 0.5-1 degree centigrade). The additional body heat is fuelled from energy from the body, a large propotion of which comes from the body’s fat store.
And that’s why it works.
And for sure, it’s safer than the ECA stack which I won’t even go into (yet is often more effective), because it’s difficult to get ephedrine on the market these days.
Abdullah: What’s your dosage and cycle of Clenbuterol? It would be interesting to know. I always recommend a 2-3 weeks cycle, and at least for the first couple of cycles starting with about 40mcg, gradually peaking to max 120mcg, and down again to the end of the cycle. Some colleagues adminsiter a straight 2-week 120mcg per day, followed by 2 weeks off, but I never recommend such a quick jump into a maximum dosage.
43. sono | February 6th, 2007 at 1:32 pm
I’m not sure but I think Abdullah is refering to the low carb diet, not Clen.
Clen does work. I happen to believe that it works better that an ECA stack (short run at least) but I still firmly believe that it is not a safe compound to use as a means to alter one’s body recomposition and aesthetics.
44. moocherx | February 6th, 2007 at 2:20 pm
I agree with you Sono… it is NOT a safe compound to alter body composition. No diet pills or anything are safe. I prefer excercise and diet adjustments, but occasionally I fall back on Clen when I’m not able to stick to my routine (e.g. business trips with lots of heavy evening meals with customers, etc.). And it helps my asthma!
