My Tires

During lunch I went with my friend at work in his Defender pickup truck and picked up my tires. They are HUGE, a lot bigger then I expected them to be. Once I get home I am going to put them side by side with my current tires just to get a better idea of the size difference.

You are making me want to get new tires myself! Unlike you I would have to get 6 tires which would be around KD240! I guess I would have to get a tire a month and then install them when I have them all! :P

These are noisy threads, I would have gone with Rancho or Billstein lift kit with a 2″ body lift and Bridgestone desert duelers, keep a watchful eye on your shaft drive angle as you might ruin your tranny if you beyond 2.5″ on the suspension lift. Good luck.

Hellraiser this tire isn’t noisy thats why I got it. Its halfway between AT and MT. Also I have a Wrangler thats why I didn’t go with Rancho and Billstein and instead went with an OME, DPG and JKS setup. Also 2″ BL is overkill since with the 1.25″ and 2.5″ I have more then enough clearance for rock crawling yet alone mall crawling. A 2″ BL would also show on a Wrangler while a 1″ is barely noticeable. Since I am doing the combination of BL and SL the shaft drive angle won’t be effected. Thats the advantage of buying from specialized Jeep guys, they know the Jeep inside and outside with its limits. Tires wise I wanted an MT thread since its more aggressive and these Hankooks got pretty good reviews. They are supposedly as capable as BFG MT’s yet quiet as AT’s. I did a lot of research in Jeep forums thats why I got this ultimate setup. Rancho’s and Billstein mean very little in the Wrangler world.
Stallion, how come 6 not 5?? You carry 2 spares?

and dont forget to upgrade your air intake with a nice new snorkle. after all, you wouldnt want to go through a wadi and have the engine choke on you!

My mistake Mark I have not read your previous entry on the lift upgrade. Old Man Emu suspension is a great system, the combination you are putting together will give you enuff clearance fro those 33″. Another of caution regarding your tires, check the manufacturing date on these tires anything above 48 month is useless and will not last very long.

Yeah I already checked and they were manufactured Q4/07. I thought they might be old stock lying around but luckily they turned out to be new.

if i remember correctly, you’re driving this car instead of the other one because of the shitload of speeding tickets (which i dont understand the diff).. but it looks like you spent more that what those tickets cost you.
