I agree with earlier commentators; there's more to England than just Greater London. I fell in love with the Lake District (Cumbria) and the Scottish Highlands in and around Edinburgh when I first visited the area in 1998 and there's been no looking back. Someday, I hope to have my own cottage in Keswick or Windermere where I can enjoy the great outdoors - book in hand, sipping my Darjeeling.

I find London quite boring & overrated, no offence. I recommend that you guys try Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Blackpool, Edinburgh and Cardiff instead. You'll see! At least you won't find GCC citizens staring at you just because you're from the gulf. Once you go beyond London, you'll see that people are more laid back. However, don't expect the locals to have the friendly spirit of the Americans and Canadians.

Just an opinion.

Markie :

Do make the time to catch some off-beat cinema at the ICA, just off the MALL near Buckingham Palace ( www.ica.org.uk)
nearest tube : Piccadilly Circus. Be sure to check out the ICA bookstore.
And I say hi! to the usher at the Barbican for me :)
