Star Trek fans.. be warned

I read the scarriest news yesterday.. I read that Ben Affleck might be the captain of the next Star Trek movie! I think that would be the worst idea in the history of movies. We don’t want a young pretty boy captain, it would ruin Star Trek the same way Tobey Maguire ruined Spiderman. Patrick Stewart I beleive has been the best captain so far but if they wanted someone younger then they should get Kiefer Sutherland. He would be a good strong captain and they could get Roger Cross, the guy who plays Curtis Manning on the show 24 to be his sidekick Klingon. Then you could have the nurse from Prison Break, she could be the doctor on the ship, and Sawyer from LOST could be the second in command. Wow that would be a good team. [Link]

Dude…with your star cast, the show wont be a trekkie’s trip, it’d be a ’24′ in space! But I abso-fudgin-lutely concur that BEN AFFLECK is a
B-A-D choice. He must be in custody of several IOU’s from ST’s producers (from the poker game they must’ve played together).

  5. Mark says:

thats a good theory because i cant imagine any other way he lands all his movie roles lol

    Jennifer Conelly – Medical Officer
Joaquin Pheonix – Young hero cadet or 1st officer
    Scarlett Johansson – Science Officer

  8. holla says:

but wtf…startrek is like umm terrible.

in other news george luc-ass is re-re-releasing the starwars trilogy unedited and unmastered on DVD. i am guessing he is saving the remastering for HD-DVD or BLU-RAY rerererererelease.

  9. Ramsey says:

Actually, Stan Lee wrote Spider-man to be inadequate–meaning, Peter Parker is supposed to be this young, pretty boy nerd, not a buff Wolverine or Thor type character.

If you didn’t like the movie, I understand, but if you make Spider-man out to be something he’s not, then thats just plain wrong. He is supposed to be a weak hero, that was Stan Lee’s intentions.

Ramsey you are digging too deep. I just don’t like Tobey Maguire

  11. Marzouq says:

Ben Aflick would be horrible! But I agree
with your line up Mark! An d Carls

Isn’t Star Trek dead now, like most of the fandom is gone. A few days ago I bought the 6th Season of Deep Space 9 (probably the last good Star Trek). I loved The Next Generation when they used to run it on some good old channel called KTV2 :).

But soo far Star Trek is dead..dead…DEAD. And I guess Star Wars is going the same way.

Science Fiction in general is no longer appealing to people I guess.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0796366/

and george lucas has confirmed that a star wars TV series will be made

  14. Ramsey says:

Mark: How has tobey maguire ruined spider-man? I understand and respect that you dislike Tobey Maguire—hell I don’t even care, but you claim that he’s ruined it. If anything he is faithful to the character. I am just interested in knowing what kind of image of Spider-Man you must have because Tobey’s acting is the most accurate to the comics.

Not trying to argue or anything, just letting you know that its faithful to the comic (having read all of it…yeah i’m a geek.)

  15. Ramsey says:

Q80Warlock: Star Trek is still very popular man, at least it is in the U.S. Sci fi is faaaaaaaaaaaar from dead, how could you say that? Star Wars is one of the highest grossing films of all time. Spider-man, The Hulk, Xmen are all Sci Fi movies with action elements thrown in. battlestar galactica, stargate, and more have faithful fanbases in America. Sci Fi is far, extremely far from dead and will always exist as a form of escapism fantasy as long as people are willing to learn more about those worlds.

SciFi is far from dead, thats just plain wrong.
