Your Nikon D70 (with it’s battery that never seems to get over), plus your 50mm lens set to 1.8, and ISO 1600 would have done the trick.
Next time, keep it in the car. It’s winter time so no problem with it getting overheated.

I know exactly how you feel, been through it a few times, I was 20 feet from Stallone in chicago a week ago when I realised that I didn’t even have the EN-EL3 in the D70s, left the battery on the charger when I left home, and my palm treo was in the car, boy did I feel like a dum dum.
