Textamerica is gone!
This is the worst news ever and I can’t believe I just found out about it. A long time ago (like 6 years) before I started this blog I used to MoBlog. Basically I used to take pictures with my PDA, a Sony Clie UX-50 back then and upload them onto this site called TextAmerica. I had hundreds of pictures there ranging from my random lunches to interesting places around Kuwait. I actually preferred the pictures I had taken for my TextAmerica blog more than the ones I did later for my Miskan.com project because I felt they were more natural and random.
Just a few moments ago I went to my old Moblog usurp.textamerica.com and realized the whole site is gone. Turns out TextAmerica shutdown in December and I just found out now so i wasn’t able to back up my images and posts! This is depressing, soo many memories and moments which I had captured are now all gone.
JUST SUE THEM! They didn’t even send you an e-mail? Ask them! I’m sure they didn’t delete everything!
Bummer, but be sure to contact them before you throw in the towel.

bwhahaha told you textamerica.com sucked and in their terms of service they owned all your pictures.

Same thing happened with Yahoo! Photos last September
but they have given at least 3 reminders over a 4-month period!

I totally feel you.. I write an article every Saturday for a local newspaper, one day I wrote 3 beautiful articles I poured all my thoughts and insights, was really happy I had created such nice pieces. Suddenly my computer crashed and my hard drive just died. I felt soooo sad and violated especially with the fact that I didn’t back them up. My sadness led to writer block for more than 2 weeks. Couldn’t write anything good!! Its weird how we feel like somebody had stole my soul.

uhhh…..YES THEY DID! DELETED! GONE! BYE BYE! cuz the owners are now in jail for espionage and drug smuggling from England…..they would take their dogs overseas, and insert cocaine into their rectums and then bring them back clearing customs…..but they didnt make it one time when the dog took a dump at the customs counter and pooped out the sack of drugs….
