The KD50 Burger
I am going to be in Thailand next week for work and there isn’t much I am looking forward to except for this burger I read about once that costs like KD50. Someone had a posted a link to it under my Slider Station burger review and ever since then I’ve been wanting to try it. So I was just checking online to see what place that burger was available in and to my surprise it turned out this special burger was being served at Trader Vic’s which is located in MY HOTEL! From all places in Bangkok that I could have stayed in I ended up staying at the exact same hotel where one of the most expensive burgers in the world is served. If that’s not a sign I don’t know what is.
Why is the burger so expensive? Well here is a run down of its ingredients:
Matsusaka beef (KD52 per KG)
Morel Mushroom (KD107 per KG)
Black Truffle (KD70 per KG)
Foie Gras (KD15 per KG)
Gold Leaf (KD2)
Only thing I am worried about is that I am a fast eater so paying KD50 for a burger I am going to gulp down in 5 minutes is a bit too much. Maybe this week I should start training myself to eat slower… [Link]
Update: I just called the hotel, the burger now costs around KD55. I guess even this burger is effected by inflation. I was also told I need to book the burger ahead of time which makes sense.

“In Japan, a Matsusaka cow listens to classical music, eats oat, drinks beer and is massaged with sake for three years. Then it ends up on our table,β he said, quickly adding βit is a wonderful life for three years.β
That is one happy cow you’ll be eating…

Do you get to pick the color too? :D
55KD! I wouldn’t pay that, ever! After you eat the burger you’ll say something like: the patty was a bit dry. Oh, and the bun fell into tiny pieces all over the plate! j/k

Yes Trader Vic’s is opening in Kuwait next to Kuwait Towers. There are also two other restaurants on the other side of Kuwait Towers (Same entrance as Chilli’s), one is Fish Market, and the other is called Fusion (Chinese/Japanese Cuisine)

Yousef >> free advice:
Stay away from the Fish Market restaurant..
Fusion is (TSC), modelled after the Japanese chain >> also a rip_off..
Mark:
Would you be able to afford the Singha beer!
KD 55 for a burger (Pause) Huh?
13. SJM | July 21st, 2008 at 6:08 pm
Listen Mark
For KD 55 you have to do the following:
1- Cut the burger to 15 littel peices.
2- Each bite should take 5 minutes of concentrated chewing.
3- After chewing count 5 seconds to swallow.
4- Make sure you lick the plate for any extra sause.
5 -Wait 5 days to release the burger from your system :)
Looool the last one was nasty ewwwwwwwwwe
Good luck and write what you really thought of the burger, dont worry we wont say that you are stupid if you said IT WAS NOT WORTH IT!

i prefer sticking with a KD2.500 burger king meal and donating the extra KD27.500 tearing my pocket to somebody in need after all it’s gonna end up in my stomach.

You would probably get the same satisfaction out of eating a 300 fils kebab at beder al bedoor.
I’m sure the chef while preparing the kd50 burger thinks “which idiot has ordered the burger this time??” whilst grinning to himself.

I’d rather have a Matsusaka beef Steak instead of a Matsusaka beef burger.
