    Kubricks “2001” is my favorite movie. I watched it the first time exactly 2 weeks after the Apollo 11 mission landed on the moon. Nowadays I average about a viewing per week.
    Tom Hanks – who views himself as the worlds greatest Kubrick fan – proudly tells people that he had seen the film a couple of a dozen times – PROJECTED!

    This is cool, didn’t know their were any other Kubrick fans out there. I love this picture cuz I never understood how they did their special effects and this picture just adds to that mystique. Yeah I know I can google it and find out how the effects are made but sometimes it good to leave things a mystery. Its a beautiful movie.

    There are many books of the making of 2001; Jerome Agels “The Making of Kubricks 2001” is probably the best, Piers Bizony “Filming the Future” is another.
