Munich through my Nikon FE

I took my Nikon FE with me to Munich as I mentioned before I traveled. The camera is nearly 30 years old and the pictures I shot with the camera also look like they are nearly 30 years old. It’s an amazing effect and I have really fallen in love with this camera. I loved carrying the heavy weight around and then manually focusing on a shot before snapping it. I took 91 pictures in total but here is a link to my favorite ones. Notice it even made the very modern BMW World look 30 years old. [Pictures]

I’ve been to Munich several times before but I’ve never been to that park. Where’s it located?

Well there are two. The one above is from the English Garden while the other ones are from the Olympic Park.

Mark, do you think it’s the camera or the film you were using that gave this antiquey effect?
7. Mark | May 27th, 2008 at 9:09 am
Its the camera since I used three types of film on my trip. if you do a search for Holga on my blog you should find some cool looking pictures taken with a holga camera. the camera makes a lot of difference.

The pictures just don’t have the “pop” that we have become accustomed to from dSLR’s.

I’m even more impressed now… these Holga cameras go for like $25 on ebay. For photos like that, seems a bargain! Ordering one for next time I’m in HKG.

Cymraeg,
These pictures are taken with a Nikon FE (SLR camera), not a Holga.

Cymraeg: they go for brand new only $25 on Amazon. They are really great cameras, I bought 2 to give as a gift for some friends
Cajie: We are talking about the holga pictures not the Munich ones

aaaargh! now I’m confused. I’d like to take some pics like those shown. So it’s the Nikon FE right? Also about $25 on ebay =)

The pictures above of Munich are taken with the Nikon FE
It will cost you more than $25 on eBay and you need to include a good lens with it. I am using a bright 50mm 1.4
The pictures below are shot using a Holga

Costs 25$ but film and developing will cost you more than 35mm
