How to make Amazon display prices in KD
I found out about this cool trick from SomeContrast back in February and its made my shopping experience on Amazon much more convenient. There is a script that works with FireFox that converts the prices on Amazon from US Dollars to Kuwaiti Dinars and then displays it for you right next to the original price. That saves you the hassle of trying to calculate how much an item costs in Dinars every time you find something.
I got the instructions for installing the script also from SomeContrast. Make sure you are using FireFox then do the following:
1) Install Greasemonkey
2) Install Amazon Local Currency Script
By default it will convert US Dollars to Israeli Shekels… you need to change that from the menu to Kuwaiti Dinars by entering the initials KWD. And thats it, pretty simple but practical.
Thanks SomeContrast!

Very handy tool, I have installed the script after Greasemonkey, and Amazon is displaying the price in NIS (Shekels I believe?)…Where can i change it to KWD?

When you are on the Amazon website, go to Tools in firefox>greasemonkey>user script commands
then change both options to KWD and refresh the page

Mark you can change the second one by entering only (KD), less clatter than KWD.

Holla: no, the add-on being popular in Israel doesn’t mean it’s made by Israeli or something.. :P ! And no, “kuwaitis = jews” was made by extremely anti-zionist groups because of political reasons (not true, Kuwait is against Israel in all cases :D ) and the add-on has nothing to do with it :P

Guys this might be not related to this post but i was wondering how do you get to do the shopping in amazon here in kuwait? do i have to register with aramex or dhl to open an account or can they deliver it straight to my home address, would they also inform me how much it would cost me for shipment?

Yup you have to make an account in DHL (5alejiya) or Aramex (elbostan)
then they’ll give you an address in the US so that you can order from Amazon or any other site that doesn’t deliver to Kuwait. Of course you need a Visa card or Paypal to pay for the site. Aramex will charge you 3KD MIN and the payment method is cash on delivery. Go to them for more details and opening the account which will cost you 10 KD or something around it.
Aramex: 5758049 – 5753558
DHL: 4318300
