Nael, you can lookup Yum Extender it’s a GUI based Yum panel that does everything and best of all it lists application details and category.

Q80Warlock, I do use yum to download, install and update the packages that I need, but I use the command line version of it, I think there’s a GUI version if I’m not mistaken. Nevertheless, one thing that the majority of the regular computer users out there want is: GUI, ease of use, and more GUI.

Actually Vista now is the 1st OS in history to get a major update before it’s official release.

An SP1 is already in beta testing ! and MS is admitting that Vista is full of bugs in it’s current condition.

Nael, the Linux community is now developing a new universal install method…currently Yum and other auto-update/installers are available on different Linux distributions.

The community will make sure that Linux installation and application deployment will be the same with all distros.

Anon, Microsoft is a corporate company, there’s a difference between Windows and Microsoft, and not all Microsoft products suck. MAC doesn’t suck, because it’s based on Linux, so when you say that MAC sucks, then you’re also saying that Linux sucks which contradicts with what you’ve written.

Linux with all its might, is not popular among regular users, the main reason is because it’s difficult to use. Regular users want an easy system where they can simply double click to install a program, they don’t want to know what RPM, or what binary packages are. They don’t want to read a whole page to install just one program. That’s one reason why Linux is not popular although it’s totally free, and who doesn’t want free stuff?

Atleast in the not distant future (or until skynet takes over the world), 90% of the world’s computers will continue running on Windows.
Mac is a good computer for what it does, just not good enough to run business applications.

Microsoft has the chance to completely bring out a new system – maybe even RISC-based. But I bet you – as with most software in the world – at least 50% of the OS code remains exactly as written in the 1970′s

I gotta say that Vista is nothing but a “spit-shined” glassy version of XP, I don’t know what’s the big deal about it? It’s a memory and a CPU hog, and unless you bought a new computer after 2004, then you’ll have to upgrade your existing one or buy a new computer to get it running normally and to use it’s full features, depending on your hardware specs of course, but if you don’t wanna use the “Advanced features” including the glassy Aero interface, then why not just stick with XP?

And yeah, if MACs suck as many “ignorants” out there who haven’t even laid a “finger” on it, show some proof that supports your claim.

vista launches jan 31 in kuwait through all the stores but check your hardware first as well as your applications.
it works best with a new system or else it will let you down.
