The Olympics
I didn’t get a chance to watch the Olympics opening ceremony but after seeing these pictures on Gizmodo I think I need to. From the pictures it looks like the opening ceremony was pretty cool so I am going to try and download the opening now. I need to get live TV at my place, I don’t even have a satellite dish… [Link]

It might help.
I was watching the broadcast on DD India, its run by Indian government, but they paused the broadcast for the local news !! I was soo pissed off by that. I saw the rest of it on KTV3.
Damn! It has got to be one of the, if not the coolest Olympic opening ceremonies ever.

In case you’re interested there’s a re-run atm in Jazeera, though they’ve reached the globe part right now.

It was AWESOME! The olympic committee spent $1 billion on the ceremony I think and they spent 10 months in training to perfect what they did. AND the FIREWORKS! DAMN! There is nothing to describe it but WOW!

I’d seen bits and pieces of the opening ceremony at a friends place. What I found really amazing was that the light show on the ground of the stadium could have been done using a computer to control the sequence, but instead it was done manually by 100’s of men tapping switches at different intervals. That was just amazing, the coordination between 100’s of operators doing different rythms on the lights at the same time to give the desired effect. WOW!
