We received our Kindle in late December and the wireless was working from here in Kuwait. Great stuff, we bought books from the device and I have a Canadian newspaper subscription to the Globe and Mail wirelessly transfer to it. But the last three days it isn’t connecting. “Your Kindle is unable to connect at this time”. Perhaps they have blocked it now in Kuwait as Amazon doesn’t support the Kindle in Kuwait. We’ll try it somewhere else than in our house to see if it works elsewhere but I’m doubting it.

Works only in the US.
I definitely prefer the natural feel of paper.

However, i think the problem with this is, how many things do you have to carry around with you on your way to work? (laptop, ipod, blackberry, cellphone, keys, wallet… + Kindle…)

that stupid amazon kindle cant read PDF based on one guy review. one more thing if you have microsoft word file you cant open it unless you send it to your email and amazon convert it and its not free.
Sony reader is the best.

i have the sony reader, its great , more stylish then kindle . the only thing that sucks is their e-book online store need a US credit card.

EVDO is the hsdpa for cdma networks. it wont work in kuwait

it wont work…EV-DO is basicly 3G. so that means it neads a carrier, so it will only work in the US, becuase the only way you can get stuff on it (books) is through the EV-DO, which is on Sprint (the mt…zain of the US).
