    Very effective. Gave me goosebumps!!

  3. mocman says:

so these people actually see themselves as fat even if they are not?

  4. Susie says:

bo9agr – I hope that you are joking.

very well done video and, yes, even when anorexics are that thin, they still see themselves are being fat.

  5. bo9agr says:

America is a messed-up country! they have obesity @ anorexia at the same time !!

  6. meanboy says:

I have a reversed anorexia. I’m fat but I see myself thin.

  7. jajaja says:

i’d do the one on the mirror.

  8. kr3w says:

that was very moving and well gave me a shock… i’m slim and i eat as much as i can get my hands on but these people deliberatly don’t eat that would be a very sad and depressing life to live.

bo9agr: before you start criticizing the states take a look at kuwait and incase you haven’t realized please take a look at the statistics: http://www.worldpress.org/Asia/1961.cfm
kuwait’s obesity rate is at 60% and what’s more interesting is that its one of the top ten obese countries in the world even more than the states…as for anorexia its more hush-hush but it does affect individuals and is very much present in kuwait…believe me its been researched and more that 30% of woman aged 18-25 have at once been either anorexic or obsessive compulsive when it comes to food…so there you have it.

as for the commercial itself..its about time!! personally i thought it was fantastic and very much effective

  13. Qaiss says:

anorexic in Kuwait dont think so..

  14. jajaja says:

for some reason i think people took bo9agr’s sense of humor too seriously

  15. fwz says:

    impressive commercial

One thing that I do find interesting is that of the comments made, no-one is “interested” in the real girl. That’s the way it should be, these girls really do need to be educated into believing that they’re simply NOT ATTRACTIVE when they look like starving refugees…!!!

  17. Lis says:

Anorexia and Obesity is in pretty much every country – for the info of Bo9agr!
I think the vid really hits home, many people who are thin see themselves as fat, and anorexic’s dont try to look like ‘starving refugees’ they simply have an issue with food and as you see from the advert, they think they are fat and very scared of getting fat. I think there should be more of these adverts on tv to make people more aware of the situation.

Bo9ager: the commercial is Swedish and not American as is indicated at the end kontakti.se

  19. no1 says:

Qais, dont look at the older women.. .the girls in my school all “become” anorexic last year. they smoke and drink red bull – its starting to become a trend

  20. Intlxpatr says:

The commercial is German, isn’t it? And anorexia and bulemia are international problems.

  21. ok go says:

there is more eating disorders in kuwait than u think!

anorexics and esp bulimics can be very in the closet,
so dont be suprised if u find out the reason why someone u know is so thin is coz she throws it all up or takes laxatives every day.

the thing is a lot of girls dont even see it as a serious issue, but it can cause really serious health and psychological conditions, even death!

    its really not a joke.

  22. ok go says:

we need to educate society hear, coz there is no social awareness here regarding eating disoders.

btw even it doesnt only affect thin people. maybe obese ppl arent anorexic but theyre perception of food is disordered. its not healthy, so even they in fact can suffer fromeating disorders.

we need to educate, coz seriously a lot of ppl think its normal to starve urself, or to eat soo much then go puke it all.

I know this friend in kuwait, and skinny as hell, her parents have given up so have all her friends, she just wont listen.
Do any of you guys know if theres like a clinic in kuwait for this sort of illness ??

  24. Aisha says:

It frustrates me to read comments of people making up thinga without being educated about eating disorders! I, myself have been batteling anorexia, self injury and borderline personality disorder for 4 years and I’m ONLY 16! Go to youtube watch the video ” dana the 8 year old anorexic” she’s KUWAITI! Her mom is from UK! I sat with this girl, we talked! She struggles! She’s recovered now :) and eating disorders are not mainly about food, yes food is a huge part but it’s only a symptom! There sooo many underlying issues to it! And illnesses are INTERNATIONAL! Can you say cancer is american or african, etc? I DON’T THINK SO! There are soooo many kuwaties who struggle with mental illnesses! And no, it isn’t a trend :)

      Hey Aisha,

It saddens me when i know for sure people struggle with many things in this country that the country isn’t aware of. Or is considered “shameful” or “taboo” to talk about so even when you feel you want help it becomes very difficult.

On the other hand, it is such a coinsidence that i suffer from the exact same things you mentioned ever since i was 14. I am 19 now and still struggle. Don’t feel alone hun i’m here if you wanna talk :)

Thanks you, Anonymous! I hope you get the help you need
