I’ve seen this on BBC website, just now a girl hit a boy in a bicycle right infront of me, sucks for her cops were right there, the boy was hurt but nothing major, when asked how come she didn’t stop she said she didn’t see him she was texting!!! This film came straight to my head!
    I
t’s feared that texing & driving is now worse than DUI..
This film is expected to be shown in schools in England, it should be all over the world! amazingly done! as scary as it is…

Meanwhile, ZAIN Kuwait chooses an ad campaign to show some idiot BBM’ing his friends on a motorbike.

    Only in Kuwait.

    LOL

This is the least of Kuwait’s worries. Fatal car crashes are the norm here whether msging or not.

Last year in Canada provincial laws were passed making it illegal to use your cellphone while driving with a fee of over $400 if caught and also the possibilty of being held reliable in the case of an accident………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….Bluetooth headsets and wireless system sales shot through the roof

thats what everyone needs to do

I thought it’s an ad for not sms while driving, so i waited for the end to see the logo and slogan but nothing came just black.
any way the movie been made very good with video and sound effects, camera angles, last hit of the coming car form side, and last the make up of the girls. BUT the hit shoot in 0:10, 0:20 and 0:26 shows the can empty, very week from the director side, not even a dummy to make it real.
Last thing ……. Poor Car :(

Agaad Hunter: I thought the same thing: How incredibly irresponsible of Zain to post the ad of the motorcyclist SMSing! This done by a company that has done a lot to address corporate social responsibility – just a very poor PR move on their part.

I just came back from Virginia and there have been so many fatalities of people dying by SMSing while driving (mostly teenagers) that there is a strict law against it. Using a hands-free device is not mandatory, however, like it is here in Kuwait. Texting takes much more concentration (I think).

The guy riding the motorcycle isn’t using the BlackBerry or any kind of phone. Of course that would be irresponsible if he was. Both his hands are on the bikes handle bars.

    pft. amateurs.

  20. 20. Agaad Hunter | August 20th, 2009 at 12:24 pm

Mark, the fact that the idiot (passenger or not) is on a motorbike and BBMing whilst sat at a sharp angle (indicating speed) is utterly hillarious and pathetically irresponsible.

Studies show that Texting while driving is more dangerous than drunk driving! I do it every once in a while i have to admit, but it is terribly stupid of me and i will do my best to STOP. It is sooo dangerous and i can clearly see myself drifting when i text and drive…

try taking the Sheraton round-about while bbming… i am not doing that again

  23. 23. faisal | August 20th, 2009 at 3:26 pm

what’s great about it is that it tells drivers what happens after the accident not only what leads to it.

  24. 24. ariston | August 20th, 2009 at 4:45 pm

I think this kind of video should be shown in most television in Kuwait, as an awareness campaign to minimize road accidents prior on using mobile phones(SMS/BBMs) while driving.

    btw, I like the vids…

roundabouts in q8 are useless… haven’t seen a country with that many roundabouts!!!

  27. 27. vampire | August 21st, 2009 at 8:41 am

and how come the camera man didn’t get hurt ?! “
i will never txt and drive!! drinking is much safer ;)

seriously though,, txting is the most dangerous act while driving

  28. 28. AndyQ8 | August 22nd, 2009 at 7:24 pm

pinkdress – roundabouts are great, but nobody in Kuwait knows how to use them!
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:NonUK_Roundabout_8_Cars.gif
2 basic things that would save countless accidents – Indicators and giving way.
