The Simpsons intro using Lego

This is one of those look at how much free time some people have posts. A friend was telling me he has a friend who’s Ramadan working hours is from 11 to 1PM which is even less working hours then the banks which are open from 10:30 to 1PM. Seriously I need to change jobs. [YouTube]

Banks open from 10am to 1.30pm and they show up half an hour early and leave an hour after. When I used to work at NBK Salmiya, we used to leave just in time for futoor (around 5pm) and show up back in the branch for the night shift 7.30pm to 11pm. There’s no afternoon shift this year, but that only means twice as much customers in the morning! With 2 IPOs, the Debt releif fund and renewed credit cards, I swear some of my friends don’t leave the branch before 6pm!

So please Mark, give bankers a break. If anything, we should all envy your job Mr.Magellan! :p

It’s called work… Some periods are busier than others. So what?

I agree with your comment about the bankers being especially busy, but that’s good. The ministries and the oil sector need to wake up at some point. Especially the ministries.

One of the things I’m happy about in Ramadan is my working hours, I get leave at 3 go home, nap for 2 hours and then voila, Futoor!! I don’t remember the last time I’ve napped before Ramadan. Regular days working hours are 8 to 5 (official), but don’t know anyone that does that.. most of us stay past 5, 6, 7, 8, and even 9.. it’s like a competition who stays at work longer!! Gilna private sector, but seriously? we need a break!! anyone hiring? ;p

Can’t wait to go home early and BBQ these ribs I got from my friend for lunch mmm then nap and eat again at futoor and then sleep and eat again at suhoor.
Ramadan is lovely, the month of eating and sleeping.

hehe, I saw this link on digg a few days ago, good stuff.

There’s one thing though, that i really had to comment on, why is it that a lot of people just assume that someone’s wasting their time, have no life, or are losers for taking up a hobby, or doing something crazy with their time.

I mean ok so the guy took a lot of time to make the simpsons intro out of lego, but it’s awesome, and entertaining. It brightened up a bunch of people’s days.. I have a friend who’s building a lego city, and it’s incredible!! I helped him out a bit the other week, and the sense of accomplishment from designing and building something was pretty cool. I have friends back in egypt who are hardcore kite surfers, the older crowds in egypt think it’s a dangerous waste of time, whereas everyone 50 and below, think it’s one of the coolest things they’ve seen (especially when they pull big air jumps off the waves)

Even though the branch hours are 10:30 – 1:00, we still work from 9:30 -2:30 :)

and I thought I had it bad, although in the investment sector it’s still much better than most of you guys, at least I feel much better about my job now.

Now seriously this guy should get a job, in the animation business I would recommend :)

    I love the video!
And yeah, speak about unfairness, man. My friend goes to the ministry to sign his attendance sheets once every two weeks. What horrifies me here is the fact that the ministry still uses attendance sheets.

haha… the company i work in, installed fancy shmansy rfid employee cards, and a card system at the entrances, to log employees, no one used them, so we’re back to attendance sheets, which no one uses anyway..
