Purse Hangers
When I was in London a couple of months back having breakfast at Marks & Spencer I saw a woman use this tiny hanger to hold her purse high above the ground. When I asked her where she got it from she told me she ordered it online so I forgot about it until now. I was going to buy one from Amazon but thought I would first find out if they are sold in Kuwait. Has anyone seen purse hangers here in Kuwait? They’re really practical since they keep the purse off the dirty floor while dining out.

Update: Thanks for everyone that posted. The best deal seems to be from Sarah who has a Facebook group here in Kuwait. She has a large collection of hooks and sells them for around 5-6KD. Here is the [Link]

Nat I found them on the airplane on Emirates Airlines Duty Free. The one they had was oriental style with a green emerald stone. It was very cute and I remember thinking it was cheap too.

27. Desert Girl | April 14th, 2009 at 10:46 am
I’ve seen ladies in Kuwait using them. Saw some in the Avenues.
Wish there was a way to use something like that in EVERY bathroom stall (for example, the extreeeeemely disgusting latrines at any of the army bases). YUUUUUCK! More germs get on the bottom of your handbag than anywhere else except for maybe your shoes. Think of that the next time someone plunks her bag down on the table.
28. Linda Fouke | April 14th, 2009 at 11:36 am
I have tried other handbag hooks and none are as durable and fashionable
as The Little Hooker. For the well-dressed woman, Moira’s matching key chain that hangs from the hangbag is a must. I was always frustrated searching for my keys in the bottomless pit of my purse! Now my purse
stays off the ground and the keys stay within reach. A double hit!
Send her an email asap to see her collection!

They also sell them at the jewellry/accessory store next to nail bar in Galleria 2000, I’ve seen them there several times :)

I found the “Happy Hooker” shortly after I moved to Kuwait and couldn’t live without it. Beyond the purse hook, I would be in BIG trouble without the key hook. For the first time in my life, I don’t have to empty my handbag to find my keys. She (the hooker lady) is at all of the Bazaar’s – you have to find her.
32. salman b. | April 14th, 2009 at 1:10 pm
I found a ‘happy hooker’ in Hawalli, but she wasn’t available for services, so I left a sad punter :(

If it is not hanging on “The Little Hooker” on the table in front of you it is not safe and secure…plus it is really pretty!

I saw a Kuwaiti guy in souk sharq using this thingy to hang his mobile strap and gold watch on the side of a foodcourt table while he ate KFC.
The “Male hooker” would be an even bigger hit here i reckon heheh
42. roma | April 14th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
I can see how this is pretty practical – but the way moira and her flunkies are trying to sell this concept on here seems a bit shameless – unless of course they are paying for the publicity :D

If anyone’s interested, the link i posted above have a large collection and they sell them for 5-6 KD. How much do you sell yours, Moira Morton?

46. Teresa | April 14th, 2009 at 7:12 pm
I have purchased the hooks and key chain hook from the Little Hooker vender..Moira Morton. I love it. I also have given as gifts to friends and family and they love them. My purse no longer sits on dirty floors. They can also be used to hang stockings at Christmas time. Go and see her.
47. Anonymous | April 14th, 2009 at 7:31 pm
Morton, i’m still waiting for the price. And Mark, thank you very much. In fact, the ones my friend sells come in a nice soft pouch free of charge.

7-17KD, talk about being ripped off. And don’t say that yours is handmade in Italy, because it’s not gonna work! :D

Umm, i saw those on the Doctors tv show. They said that they were a great way to get rid of A LOT of germs since purses catch many of them when they are put on the floor.
52. Marlene | April 14th, 2009 at 8:38 pm
The handbag hook is a great product that I purchased from “The Little Hooker”. Having the bag hanging next to me rather than on the floor or on the back of the chair provides a better sense of security. I believe keeping it off the floor also helps keep it germ free. Great Idea!
53. Anonymous | April 14th, 2009 at 8:41 pm
The Little Hooker! Priceless, I love it!
54. Moira | April 14th, 2009 at 9:11 pm

56. Nat | April 14th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
Hey anonymous, I checked her Facebook link and nothing honestly caught my eye.. I’m just waiting for ” The Little Hooker” to send me some pics eventhough her prices are more expensive to see the difference.

I am pleased to say that our prices are a great value for the quality and design. Our natural stones are Imported from all over the world, and some originate in the USA. We have our Murano Glass beads for our Venetian Collection shipped into the USA from Venice, Italy. Hardware is sourced overseas, and the final product is assembled in the USA at our Headquarters. The higher end price points are for the Venetian Collection (24ct Gold Leaf and Silver Leaf), and our Gifts Sets which include a Hook and a matching Key Ring. The bottom line, a Purse Hanger is a great product, and serves multiple purposes. You friends collection is nice in that price range, and there is more than enough business to go around. A particular brand being affordable is all relative to the customer that is purchasing. I wish your friend success with her business. The good news is they are available in Kuwait for anyone who is looking. So everyone, “Lift the Curse of the Purse” and buy a handbag hook!
58. Anonymous | April 15th, 2009 at 3:43 pm
Or: get a chair, and place your purse there! Seriously. :D
59. B | April 15th, 2009 at 4:43 pm
Ladies — just a question. How does it work? Is it just by weight? One of those reversible sticky tapes? Curious here.
Also, I just realized sending an email with the subject ‘a little hooker from 248am’ might get spam canned instantly by Hotmail.
60. Moira | April 15th, 2009 at 6:17 pm
No spam cans so far. You can put “Handbag Hook” in the subject if you like.
Now on how it works…You hang the bag on “The Little Hooker” Handbag Hook, then place the disk on the table top. Our G-hook goes under the table, and the weight distribution is directly beneath the disk, and therefore helps secure to the table. We also have a non-skid pad on the back of the disk that keeps it from sliding off. Our G-Hook drop is deep so it acomodates any depth of tabletop. Email and I’ll send you the pictures.

You have a great blog Mark. I am fairly new to Kuwait. About those handbag hooks. I bought about 8 of them and send back as gifts to U.S.A. All my friends and family love them. I myself use few of the hooks. I am getting emails back from all the time from back home from my other friends when will they get a ” little Hooker” hand back hook or a key chain. I purchased all the hooks from Moira soon after I came to Kuwait. What a fabulous idea. They are extremely beautiful and fashinable and very useful. I cannot live with out them. I will buy some this year as teacher gifts as well. Since I bought the key ring I never have to empty mu purse to look for my keys. Very practical idea. I love Moira’s “little hooker” hand bag hooks.
