Bubbles Nail Spa

This post is for the female readers of the blog which Mark doesn’t cater to that much. A few days ago, the owner of a new nail care salon “Bubbles Nail Spa†invited me to visit her newly opened place in Al Jassem Tower in front of the ice skating rink. It’s always interesting to visit newly opened places so I took her up on her invitation and took my appointment for Friday.
I was happy to discover that the place turned out to be very nice. Beautifully designed, with a very modern and sleek yet girly look. It even had a slightly industrial design with all the metal pipes and metallic crafted shades and separators. The place has a nail spa section that can accommodate up to 6 people with very comfortably seating and a brow bar that can fit up to 3 people. The seating area was designed in a way that gives the person complete seclusion and privacy.
What’s also very special about Bubbles in particular is the hygiene which is very important for me. Everything is immaculately clean and the coolest thing is they use disposable stuff for everything. They use disposable foot scrub sticks, nail filers, nail brushes and even the sinks in front of each seat use disposable plastic containers. I found that very comforting. They even have a cabinet that can accommodate up to 460 containers for regulars who want to safe keep their things in the salon.
The seats are also as comfortable as they look which completes the whole soothing spa like mood of the place. In addition to that the whole time while I was there they were playing oriental yoga style music which made it easier for me to relax and enjoy the treatments they have. I hate it when I go to a salon and they have loud TV or Arabic music playing.

With all the cool looking things available on their menu I decided to go with a bubblicious hot stone pedi and regular mani complimented with the microbond sculpted nails enhancement treatment. For my pedi, they started off with a nice food scrub using one of their products that looks and smells really good. That was followed with a rejuvenating mask for young and fresh looking feet. Last but not least the hot stone massage which includes rubbing my feet with oil then massaging them with heated black stones which believe it or not they disposed of after each use as well! The hot stone foot massage was soo good I almost fell asleep. Not to forget the complimentary heated neck wrap and the Jasmine tea they offered me from their drink menu to top off this ultimate relaxing pedicure session. My pedicure then ended with a hot towel wrap and the usual color overlay.
As for my manicure I had this friendly and experienced lady do my gel overlays and she was really good at it. An hour or so into it and I had perfectly sculpted nails which was quite eye pleasing for me since my nails start breaking before they grow long enough. What I hadn’t considered was the difficulty I would be facing with my iPhone. I can’t seem to type properly on my iPhone with my new long nails!
One other thing the owner mentioned to me that I found interesting was the “Little Princess†mani and pedi package they have for young girls. This package is made involves covering one of their chairs with a pink princess cover and giving the girls a little crown to put on. I found that very cute.
All in all It was a nice and very relaxing experience and I would definitely be back again for a gel overlay refill or a hot stone massage. The place has been open for just about a month now and I think they are doing pretty well for a newly opened place.
Pros:
1- the staff is very friendly
2- the place is very clean, very modern looking and girly
3- if you are a self-conscious person you can enjoy all the privacy you need
4- I love the built in sinks which use disposable containers that are disposed of after a single
5- Everything is disposable which is very good if you’re a cleanliness freak like me
6- The storage cabinet for regulars
7- The complimentary drinks
8- The hot neck wrap, soothing music, and relaxing spa like environment
9- The nail polish selection.
10- The comfortable seating
Cons:
1- The Location: It’s not very convenient since it’s in Kuwait city and the mall it’s located in is not even done yet (I hear Maki is opening up there)
2- The opening hours: only from 12pm till 8pm. Not very convenient for someone who has a full time job.
3- The prices for regular manis and pedis are slightly more expensive than the market which might be understandable because of their disposable stuff
You can visit their website and check out their services by going to bubblesns.com
Below are more pictures of the place and here is a link to a scan of their menu [Menu Scan]

Ok as i said in the beginning of my post “This post is for the female readers of the blog” So as a male reader you don’t have to read it then complain that you didn’t understand a thing.

since they’re so into disposibiles and hygiene, do they send their other metal equipment to a medical hygienist to get sterlized in an autoclave?
8. Ansam | May 18th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Your review is very nicely done and made me wanna go there… I love their décor and their comfortable seats and relaxing atmosphere, though I am a loyal customer at another nail salon… this salon can be my indulgence (to go every once in a while I guess heehee)
By any chance, what nail polish brand do they use?
*I LOVE essie colors.*

as real q8i man am not interested in such a females thing but thanks u nate will gonna take my gurl there and watch the techniques in wich they use to fix damaged cuticles so i can lern new things for sience and knowledge.
10. Nat | May 18th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
Lol @ Holla.
Ansam they use O.P.I and Zoya which is a vegan, femaldahyde, animal and human friendly brand (according to Bubbles owner) with a very rich set of color choices i must say.
Concered if you’re actually serious about your question you’ll have to call them up and ask them about that.

The nail salon looks fabulous but doesn’t having everything be disposable incredibly unfriendly to the environment?!

Mark does cater for female readers, with his colourful choices of training shoes.

Hi everybody I went there it was empty which is ok but when they did my nails they ruined them sa they have something like a nasty buffer that left my nail as if it was turtured and when i asked she said she did it so the nail polish will last longer ( I can`t beleive that ) I did it again in another nail bar and still it is bad …
14. Joud | May 18th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
nail polish is pretty cool too
15. Nail Addict | May 18th, 2008 at 11:07 pm
Been to Nail Polish a few times, they r not so bad if u don’t want to drive too far.. But they are tooo slow, and the French manicure is not the best…
16. BlackBeauty78 | May 18th, 2008 at 11:20 pm
wooow… I’ve been there, the atmosphere was very tranquil and the staff were very sweet.. I even used one on the storage cabinets to keep my stuff.
I’ll definitely visit Bubbles Nail Spa on a regular basis.
It’s a bit pricy though, but definitly worth it. Their work was very exquisite and clean. I loved the hot stone pedi!
If you’re like taking care of your nails like me, you’re going to love experiencing this fine little nail spa.

Thank you Nat and 248am for the great review! I am so happy that you had such a good experience:-)
Concered and lover nails: We do sterilize in house. We have a hospital grade autoclave in which we sterilize and then seal all our metal tools.
Ansam: As Nat explained, we use OPI and Zoya. I am in Dubai right now at BeautyWorld Dubai (the largest beauty convention in the Middle East) and I have picked up the most amazing selection of polishes from Color Club- I am talking shocking pinks! You are gonna love them.
Rasheed: At Bubbles we are concious of the environment and we do all we can to conserve, but unfortunately viruses and fungus are getting so strong they resist all types of disinfectants. We open a new set of tools for each customer but it is up to the customer to decide whether or not they want to throw them away. Most customers take them home and reuse them. Some customer have their own boxes to store things for their own exclusive use so they don’t need to open new sets every time they visit us. Our pedi-liners are recyclable.
Margoga: I am shocked to read your post. We want each and every customer to leave Bubbles Nail Spa happy and thouroughly satisfied. Please call or stop by and we will do what ever it takes to rectify this siatuation.
Blackbeauty78: Thanks for the great comments, the Amazing Hot Stone Pedicure is my favourite too!
In order to control quality, we open part time (12pm to 8pm.) As we hire new employees we hope to extend our opening hours to 10am to 10pm, but it might take a while…..
Thanks again, 248am for the great review. Keep giving Kuwait your great feedback (the info on the Panasonic Pleo was priceless.)

Looks good but I usually go with my best friend so judging from the picture I wouldn’t be able to sit next to her and talk and stuff.. But other than that it looks good!

It may be pricey but it is certainly worth it!!
24. Jennifer | June 13th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
Hi,
I just moved to Kuwait about 2 weeks ago and am in DIRE need of a gel refill, but have been ridiculously unlucky with finding a place - any place - that does nails. Whenever I ask someone where I can find a place for nails, they always direct me to a pharmacy or beauty store.
So, could you please tell me where to go (their address)??? I would be extremely grateful!!!
25. Bubbles | June 15th, 2008 at 1:57 am
Jennifer: Call us on 2960929 or 2960930 between 12 and 8 to set up an appointment……We are in Kuwait City, I’ll give you diredtions. Bubbles Nail Spa

I visited Bubbles nail spa after readin all of the comments on here i thought i shoudl try it out.. and i have to say that im sooo glad that i did!! they really make you feel welcome from the minute you enter the place.. what i especially loved were the little added extras, the drinks, the warm neck thing (dont know name) i had the hot stone pedicure and the refresh your hands manicure ( i think thats what its called) anyway and they were amzing.. they dont scrimp on the massage like other places do which is really important in my books…
also i had the pleasure of meeting with the owner by accident as she was in there at the time.. and she is lvoely.. not only does she care about customer service she also knows all about her products including the techancilites of materials ( which i thought was great as i honeslty expected her just to see it as her salon and someone else runs it type thing) but not at all she really treasures the place and ithink thats what will make it far outlast others..
my manicure did not chip as fast as it usually does so i am already a fan.. yes it is more expensive than other nail salons but i think for the treatment you get its worth it…

hey,, im a big fan of nbar. and EXTREMELY loyal.. however becuz i hear so much .. i decided to go and see bubbles nailspa for myself.
the design and dedication to making it profesional was gr8. the form u have to fill out the begining is a gr8 idea.. the ambiance.. perfect. chairs .. amazing!
however.. the staff.. :S id give them 5/10 ! theyre still new though .. so they need practice. it wasnt the best manicure. however i would cut it some slack becuz it is new. i give in a yr.. then it might get pumped up to an 7 maybe an 8.
This place has potential
