Review: The Pizza Company

pizza companyYesterday me and mark left home at 5 to go have lunch at the ice skating ring since Mark wanted to do some shooting in the area. Mark ordered his usual McDonald’s meal, I on the other hand wasn’t much in the mood for burgers so i decided to go ahead and try The Pizza Company out. I’m usually very picky with food, but everybody deserves a chance… or so i had thought.

They had a pretty good ramadan offer: yogurt, pepsi, mango juice, dates, mushroom soup, fatayer, potato wedges and finally one small double pepperoni pizza all for the price of KD1.450. I ordered my food, waited a bit then my order started coming in bit by bit, mushroom soup was weird and tasteless, tried a spoonful then tossed it on the side, had a couple of potato wedges that tasted pretty bad, I even had to borrow some ketchup from McDonald’s because The Pizza Company ketchup tasted like it was expired!! But that was ok, I was still waiting for my pizza to come.. I mean how bad can it be, it’s just pizza.

A few minutes later my pizza came, it looked ok.. but I quickly found out how awful it really was. The crust was really oily, all i could taste was cooking oil. The pepperoni? what pepperoni? I think they had like beef salami on top and inside it which really really tasted bad, i mean really bad. I forced myself to eat one slice without the pepperoni, without much crust and with lots and lots of ketchup. I didn’t even want to eat it at all but since mark usually complains that i never eat any of the food I order and i decided I would prove him wrong.

That was one of the worse pizza experience I’ve ever had. There used to be a snack next to my house in Lebanon that had pizza for 1$ and it tasted a hell lot better than this crap. I’ll try sticking to eating pizza from my 2 favorite places from now on, Domino’s and Sbarro.

I was invited to their first opening day by wasda, and after eating the margarita for free (which took 30 mins to come) I vowed to never eat there again. Stick to Pizza Hut.

I totally agree with the score. I tried their salad and lasagna; the salad was oily, and the pasta was cold and dry. :(

The Pizza Express at the airport is awesome. Great salads, too. Does anyone know if Papa John’s delivers here and what the phone # is? Thanks!
