Heat Stroke
We had an urgent shoot for one of our clients today so as usual I volunteered to go. The location had to be a beach and since we didn’t have time to be picky we ended up going to the public beach on Marina crescent since it’s practically the cleanest of all public beaches on the coastal area in Kuwait.
The shoot started at 10 am, the weather was strikingly hot as usual, temperature was around 46 degrees so the whole outdoor shooting experience was extremely uncomfortable. Around noon I started having nausea and getting dizzy then I started seeing black spots and the spots were getting bigger. I told the photographer that i wasn’t feeling too well and that I was going to faint so they quickly sat me on the ground under the umbrella and they got me orange juice.
Luckily the shoot was over by that time and they walked me back to the car. I could barely move, I was feeling very weak and overheated. I finally got to the car, turned the AC at full blast and waited 15 minutes to get my strength back before I could drive home and take a shower before I went back to the office. I’m definitely not going to anymore outdoor shoots this summer, I learnt my lesson.

You should be careful….I hear the heat in Kuwait is even worse than in the UAE!
Here, it makes me sad to see construction workers slaving away at around lunchtime when the sun is at its peak. It’s simply inhumane!
Hope you feel better

Mark’s free doughnuts would’ve kept his blood sugar levels high enough not to faint ;-)

I’m into photography as a hobby though. I have some old pictures posted of my flicker account.
