My Morning Ride

nat ducati

Despite me failing my riding testlast week, I decided to go for my first ride out today early morning with a friend who has a Harley and another biker friend of his.

I woke up at 7:30AM and headed out onto the gulf road to meet up with the two. I was too damn sleepy but I was also really excited. This was my first time out without my trainer and I wasn’t nervous at all. I think Mark was worried about me but thats to be expected.

I met up with the bikers next to Marina Crescent and we took off from there. The ride went pretty smooth and as good as I would have hoped for. It was really fucking cold though, and my gear seemed to do very little to keep me warm. Even though I had my windproof biking jacket on, gloves, boots and thick kevlar jeans, I could still feel the cold wind slipping through. My fingers were freezing and I felt they were gonna fall off at one point. But that still didn’t really stop me from enjoying my ride.

My friend Marwan managed to take some cool pictures of me while on the road since he’s a far more experienced driver than I am. I’ll be waiting for the day when I can ride with one hand and shoot pictures with the other at the same time.

When I am on my bike I feel rather confident, not overconfident just confident and now I cant wait for my next ride on friday. More pictures below.

    Here’s the plan:
I start riding with you guys as a “passenger” until parents (especially dad) gets used to the idea of me on a bike and next summer I would get my own bike at ease. How about that? Am not soo sure about which kind of bike I’d go for, but we’ll see when the time comes ;)

Oh also: If I saw you on the road, I wouldn’t have recognized you!

Hehe thanks everyone for your comments! I’ve always wanted to learn how to ride bikes since I was a kid and being able to ride one now is quite overwhelming for me and i love it.

Rita me and mark cant’ have any passengers for now until we become more experienced. Good luck trying to convince ur dad though! It would be great if it works out.
