Hey there, I have a Black Jeep Wrangler. Its an amzing Jeep. You'll enjoy drving this machine. If you are planning on buying for everyday use, then better go for the automatic transmission Or if its gonna be your weekend ride, then of course a manual would be great.

There are a few things you'll definately have to change when u buy the wrangler; 1. Change the wheels and the tires. 2. Cold air Intake. 3. fenders etc etc.

If you need more info, email me

a friend of mine living in the downtown area of a medium-sized US city had a wrangler for two years and then traded it for the Liberty. she told me she was sick of her Wrangler getting broken into. people would cut the top or pop the doors open from the inside and take whatever was left in plain view. CDs. gym bag. whatever. if you have a safe place to park it at home and work then great. if not, theyre apparently very easy for ne'er do-wells to break into.

Thanx for your advice docxray, I trust that what you say is absolutely right. I know that the wrangler isnt a very safe car. I am willing to take the risk though. I'll just have to take it step my step, learn how to handle my car and get used to it. I wont be going off-roading from the first day and when I do, I wont be going alone either. I would be going with much more experienced people than myself.

Illusion there aren't that many wranglers here in Kuwait and Im afraid that if I wave to people driving wranglers here (whom are mostly guys) I'll have a whole bunch of sexually frustrated men on my tail, trying to outrace me on the highway:)

I drove a Wrangler for 4 years and I loved every minute of it. They really last. We've had ours for about ten years now and we still have had no major problems with it.

Wrangler drives in the states wave at eachother when they cross paths. Maybe you can start a new trend here in Kuwait if you decide to get one :)

When I asked how good a driver you were, your reply that you have driven for seven years was not indicative of your driving skills. If you have driven for only seven years and have not driven a high-centred SUV, then I worry about your ability to drive a Jeep Wrangler off-road - unless you are driving at a snail's pace. I have driven Jeeps (all models and configurations) off-road in North American, Europe and the ME rally racing for almost 50 years and I'm supposedly an expert driver. Jeep Wrangler's scare the h... out of me, particularly when driven off-road by an individual unfamiliar with the vehicle and without the requisite driving skill and experience. The fully-accesorized Jeep Wrangler may be a "cool" looking car but it is inherently unsafe unless you know exactly what you, and it (each of its four wheels), are doing. These are not toys, and off-roading is a very dangerous game. Words of advice from a wise and white haired old geezer who insists on driving the posted speed limit on Kuwait freeways (with nary an accident or scratch I might add).

Hey Nat. Salut on the decision. The wrangler is a good choice and its one of those 'ageless' cars. The downside is that it's got a somewhat rough ride, so don't be stinjy on the extra options. If you and Mark are interesterd in going hardcore offroad with it, a manual might be quite tricky if the car doesn't have a clutch-override feature. The Jeep Liberty (Limited?) has one, but I don't know if the Wrangler has it.

Nibaq I think I'll stick to the wrangler...for now anyway;)
Docxray I could say Im a good enough driver, I've driving for the past 7 years..never driven an SUV though except for a couple of times when I first got my Lebanese driving license..Im not really worried about being able to handle this baby;)
About driving in the desert I wouldnt go alone, I barely know my way around Salmiya so far anyway, havent been in Kuwait long enough yet. Thanx though:)

How good a driver are you? Jeep Wranglers are notorious for their high-centre of gravity and rollover capability. Be careful out there in the desert.
