Pet Shop
Since I came to Kuwait I haven’t seen one single petshop. Where are all the petshops? Are there any? I really want a pet, I’m a dog person , I’ve always wanted a dog but since I’m at work all day, having a dog wouldn’t be very convenient according to Mark… It wouldn’t have been much of a problem for me though. However I’m still on a quest to get a pet (no special preferences), I was told to go to sook el jem3a (Friday’s Market) where I would have a large selection of pets. I went there like 3 months ago and all I found were a couple of dogs, a couple of cats, alot of pigeons , and mostly chicken. That wasn’t exactly what I was looking for.. So if any of you guys know of a normal petshop here in Kuwait, I would be more than happy to get the name and exact location of that petshop.
Hmm. You can try Al Muthana Complex. I remember there being a really cool pet store behind the Future Kids place. It’s right next to the prayer room in the back. Get some fish, a chinchilla, or maybe hamsters.

and i also saw an ad for a petshop in jabriya
no man that place closed down ages ago. they had a really large aquarium there when they first opened. i still remember it. cost KD2000
hmmm, I tried contacting Paws before, they only have dogs and cats, I actually had a phone interview with one of the girls in charge, since me and Mark were interested in a dalmatian they had on their website, but they ended up denying our request since we are both out of the house during the day,which I didnt quite understand since a dog alone in the house for a few hours is still better off than being homeless, plus most people here have jobs and do not sit around at home all day.
I should check out the veterinary hospital though but I’m also kind of hoping to find a regular petshop. Thanx for the links Forza..:)

beside friday market,
they sell fish,all kind of birds,cats,and on weekdays people come to sell ther pets

Soaq el hamam pets are sick and bring diseases :\ . + most of the pets imported by unleagly ways , imagine i found a kangroo their :s ..

I really want a cat i just don’t where i can find one… i don’t wanna try souq al 7amam im afraid the animals there will bring me all kinds of diseases… if you know someone or someplace i can get a cat that would be great…;) thnxx
yeah i know blobloz , it was quite sad when i went there. Entrepreneur Im definitly interested. But im in middle of changing jobs and things r pretty hektic, will contact u soon once things settle down. thanx:)
hi nat ther is a international vet hospital in way to wafra me and my husbend take our iguana ther and they always have dogs and puppies for adoption I will try to get u the phon number for the hospital.

Thanx alot Laila:) The first time I went to fridays’ Market a few months ago was the last, and I was actually trying to find an Iguana back then, but ur advice is now making me reconsider getting it in case I ever find one..they’re fascinating creatures though. However I will let you once I find a pet, hopefully a dog..

their is a pet shop next to AlShaib Park they sell snakes,spiders,dogs,cat..etc.their is also one in AlJabriyah , when u pass the gas station turn right then its on the first or second left. they only have cats n dogs. try giving soog el hamam (The Pigeon market) a shot its on the 4th ring road near to Mustafa Karam(Suzuki) and the Nurseries , but go on fridays its much more crowded and u ll find more pets ..

their might be a belgium shepherd in the one in jabriya i went there a few days ago and saw something that looked like it

souq el 7amam is a quite a trusted place.
i got a kitty just a few days ago, and immediately after i bought the kitty, they accompanied me to the vet just 3 minutes away from the shop where they examined the kitten. she was clean, and disease-free.
http://www.animalfriendskuwait.org/ is an animal shelter. unlike PAWS, they won’t turn any animal away. they’ve even had a donkey before. they have all kinds and are very friendly. they’re in wafra. a point of contacts name is Stephanie @ 700-1622. She’s really nice.
Someone gave me a beta fish. It’s in the saddest little acquarium i’ve ever seen. Does anyone know of a pet store for fish products?
there is 1 in jabriya i bought my turtle from there they also have many fish it is the mall in blk 5 or 6 sumwere near there
Hi everyone, I rescued two kittens from the street and have never thought twice, they are beautiful and loving. I would like to know about a vet that is good.I got alot of my cat supplies at salmiya sultan centre, but I am urgently looking for some kind of toilet trainer for my cats. I have seen them on the net and was hoping I could find those products in Kuwait. Has any one seen anything like this????
Hi! I have recently moved to Kuwait and I am looking for a shop where I could find pet Budgies. I once lived in Kuwait 4 years ago and the Iranian souq used to sell Budgies, however, it has recently come to my attention that they no longer stock Budgies. So, if anyone knows of a place where I could purchase a Budgie (preferably a young one, but that is not important) please help me out! I live in the Jabriya region, so any shop near there that anyone knows about please inform me!

Hi, i’ve been dealing with the friday market since i was little. every pet i got there was healthy and grew up beautifully. i just bought a tiny siamese kitten, the only problem i can think of is that he’s pretty young, and shud still be with his mother, he’s a month and 2 weeks old :( breaks my heart. anyhow, the vet right across from the friday market it good, al dohama’a.

@ Angel…the best thing to do is initially u ll ve to keep taking the kitten to the litter pot so that she can gradually rem the place n realize there is gravel to do the works…Toilet Trainer is rare to find in kuwait…

Ace Hardware has great pet supplies, although I buy my dog’s food in Dubai. I know it sounds crazy but there’s an amazing pet shop there called Pet Corner and I buy her food and some treats everytime I go and with Jazeera’s new 40kg checked baggage allowance, it’s perfect! I am however currently looking for a betta fish and I don’t know where to find one in Kuwait. I went to the aquarium shop behind the Avneues Mall and they said they don’t carry them…any ideas?

Largest selection of animal and equipment will be friday market, in shuwake, dogs, monkeys, fish, birds, everything. Open most day inc friday. Separate from the sunshades, check it out, real animal lover be prepared for some horrifying animal treatment though, not a happy place for animals. In fahaheel bizaar there is a small petstore. That’s all I know. Hope I’m a help for anyone who wants an animal, just got two red eared sliders, 30 year commitment, don’t forget, an animal is for life, not for christmas!
