S, M, L, XL

Ok so you all know me and Mark went to Lebanon for New Years. It was short and quick but pretty chilled out and we managed to get a lot of things done. My problem with vacations is that whenever i get back it takes me a while to get back in the mood for work and my daily routine. I miss Lebanon, partying, my family and my friends already.
A couple of days before we left to Lebanon I quit my job here. Things had started getting pretty sour at work lately and the whole atmosphere had changed 180 degrees. This change made my decision easy plus the fact I had already found another more exciting job also helped. Going on my vacation knowing that i wont be coming back to my old job but rather starting a new one was exciting and a boost to my morale.
Our stay in Leb was pretty smooth and fun. I did a lot of shopping but i only ended up getting just 3 shirts. The problem in Lebanon is that all the girls are skinny (or i’ll say most of them to be fair) so the sizes S and XS have the highest demand. When I got to Lebanon it was already sale season so most of the places had run out of my size. On the other hand when i came back to Kuwait i went to a few of the same shops i had visited in Lebanon and even though they were also on sale, most of the sizes left were XS and S. In Kuwait the girls do not tend to be anorexic and also share a different taste than mine so most of the time i end up finding stuff I want here easily.
Unlike Mark I do not feel that great to be back so soon. Lebanon is my home and I wanted to enjoy it a bit more before I got back. Hélas with me thats always the case.

yall need to post more slow shutter shots of the basement.
Hey Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, sorry my greeting came so late since i was out of town, well happy to hear from you for the first time in 2007 :). Nat i am really enjoying what you and Mark are posting. 248AM became one of must check every day several time because of the interesting stuff that i enjoy reading or experiencing it. I would love to keep the level of energy up to your highest standards.
Ok coming to your subject (Lebanese girls’ sizes vs. Kuwaiti girl sizes) in my point of view, the thing that makes this difference is what they eat. In Kuwait, girls eat RICE every single day (except a small % who really knows what they are eating). On the other hand, Lebanese girls are always been the sample of the perfect body shape. If we walk down the street in Lebanon, BIG % of girls have a slim body, but in Kuwait OMG.
Kuwaiti girls are not anorexic?
I have the urge to feed half the girls I see .. go checkout out anything near Salhiya/Raya.
kuwaiti girls know how to dress.btw we don’t eat rice everyday and even if we do i think rice isgood food , and mashalla all my friends have 2 kids and we are under 30 and boy do we know how to dress and mashalla nice slim bodies.
in kuwait ppl in general are just malunutrition (not just girls). they are either too fat or too skinny or the lovely combo of skinny fat.
Nat,
Please don’t take this personally; no, please do. Your constant whining about not liking it here in Kuwait and how great Lebanon is starting to get old. I have no choice but to ask you to leave and go back to your home. Exactly, you are acting like a rude guest who keeps telling his host how bad his food is or how shitty his furniture looks. What do you expect him to tell you in return? What would you do if you were the host and one of your guests tells you your food sucks and what he has at home is much better? My thoughts exactly.
So, since you know that many Kuwaitis frequent this blog, and you are a guest in this country, it would be wise and polite of you to keep your snide remarks about your host to yourself.
Cheers
K until today the only skinny girl i met is now chubby
r u in kwt?!
this is the only thing we can do in Kuwait and enjoy it, let us have our whinning in peace, Kuwait isnt the greatest country to live in and even Kuwaiti’s would agree…. or else you wouldn’t be traveling every chance you get
I am lebanese and i have seen A LOT of fat girls..or chubby or wtever…they’re not all skinny
Zoho here is a link to all of Nats posts
http://248am.com/nat
could you please point out her posts where she whines about Kuwait?
…this is not counting the fact that she didn’t even whine in the post above, she only pointed out she would have liked to have spent more time in Lebanon before she got back because 6 days wasn’t enough time to see her family and friends. that doesn’t mean kuwait sucks.
Mark,
The remarks are scattered in the form of replies here and there and not necessarily in her posts, but let me take the one here as an example:
Nat said: “Unlike Mark I do not feel that great to be back. Lebanon is my home and I wanted to enjoy it a bit more before I got back. Hélas with me thats always the case.”
Now, imagine your friend Fahad and his wife Hussa come to your apartment for dinner and Hussa says:
Unlike Fahad, I do not feel that great to be back to your tiny apartment. Dhahia is my home and I wanted to enjoy it a bit more before I got back to your place. Hélas with me thats always the case.
How would you respond?
I am not saying Nat meant to be rude, but usually tact is in order when you’re a guest. It shows that you have class.
Cheers
Zoho! prolly doesnt understand english! go back to school.!
btw Nat, is that u in the pic?
I got the same feeling, dont get me wrong I do like Nat but I was thinking why do you choose to live in kuwait if you dont like it? Other than Mark staying there…:\
i am kuwaiti and i gave nat a free pass to shit all over this place. too bad she barely uses it.
Tota: Lebanon is my home country and for sure like any other lebanese i prefer it over kuwait. Just like most Kuwaities would prefer Kuwait their home country over Lebanon or any other country. If my country wasn’t so flawed at the moment and I had the choice of course I’d rather be there than here. That’s just natural. I never said I hated Kuwait in my post or any other post. Alot of things do annoy me here just like alot of things annoy me in Lebanon.
SOS yeah thats me in the pic when we went to basement.
on a totally different topic, I just saw sadams exc vid and I wish I hadnt. It really put me down, although I am a kuwaiti. The world isnt such a nice place.
I don’t think he should have been executed. Execution is the easy way out.
you have a tough heart
with all due respect :)
Nat,
You look much cuter in reality so do not
mislead the audiance !That is not you in the photo
tota i meant he should have been imprisoned for life instead…
That looks like a reasonable answer Nat. I wish I had an easy answer like that, but when you live in an environment with three different backgrounds and three different cultures, and you feel like you just don’t belong to any of em, then it’s a bit difficult.
Nice meeting you by the way.
As for Saddam, his execution might be true, or this whole thing is just a play, and he’s just enjoying his time somewhere in south america; wirtten, produced and directed by the CIA of course….
Jafar, it IS Nat in the photo :S
Stafa he knows its Nat duhh!
seriously… i can walk night and day in london, new york, spain .. knowing my husband wouldnt be overwhelemed by women beauty, except in Kuwait and lebanon, in kuwait they are so well dressed and pretty, in lebanon models.. not neccessarily well dressed.
Hehe, thanks Jaafar, you made me blush:p
The pic has a weird angle but i didnt think it was that bad:)
Thanks Nael..
fuck saddam … he deserved to get hanged .. he caused the death of millions of people … he fuckin put dynamite on people and blew them .. just for fun … i think Hanging him was too merciful ..
i just didnt like it when they cheered 6a2efeyah stuff ..
and i want to thank the person who shot the video ..
and to whoever disagree on hanging sadam .. Go read sadam`s history ..and tell me how it feels .. if in his invasion on kuwait his army killed and tortured your father for no reason .. how would that make you feel ?!
Nat doesn’t whine about kuwait.. Mark does :D
“had the choice of course I’d rather be there than here.”
why dont you have the choice?
Are you saying that you are anorexic?
Congratulations with the new job.
Zoho I just think your taking things a bit out of context. Your example doesnt fit, it isnt just about a home your living in, its about the experiences you get. Like any place there is the good and the bad.. its natural for her to prefer her home country where is she was born and raised and has more friends and family. You can’t blame someone for that, I know a lot of Kuwaitis who say that while living in the states for their college years..
And Nat in that picture Im assuming your plastered! hahaha.. no just kidding, its a weird angle picture.. Happy New Year and all that.. and Im happy you found a good new job! Hopefully it will be consistently good, and it helps to have a 30 inch Apple screen! Enjoy :)
nat,You look too pretty in the pic.Your face reminded me of a girl whom i knew several years ago.You brought the fond memories back to life.
what’s with the title of this post.Am i buying something that i need to know the size of ?
NAt DA Punk Rock Princess///…
Nice piercings.. :)
Wow someone needs to comment Nat is really really…beautiful. Way to go Mark!
you know.. women everywhere are just the same now, considering Kuwait “too americanized”, the Lebanese/more like European taste vanishes in Kuwait. why’d you think celio closed?.. and sometimes you can find real good Lebanese made clothes, I love some shops in achrafieh, and this rock outfits place in junieh.
Mo Hat, I already complemented her.
Viva la Mark! The mayor of Salmiyah!!!
Imprisionment for life sounds easier, I wonder why everyone thinks its worse than being killed.
k boys..settle down..easy on urselves… =P
i wannna go backkkkkk tooooooooooooooooooooooo :(
i could’ve used 2 or 3 more days there too. i kinda regret not having made it to the slopes.
Anyone having a problem with Nat’s comment about loving Lebanon should read the post by Kuwaitiism about his first trip to Beirut.
Zoho, you’re a typical Middle Eastern that cannot accept others living in their country even though the advantages outway the disadvantages, you have to look at the big picture and look at the impact the foreigners have on a country. Europeans can freely live in any other member of the EU without feeling that they’re ‘guests’ as you refer them to, even though they speak different languages. I’m an Arab living in the UK and I’m treated with full respect and I was never ever referred to as a ‘guest’
God! Nat s pic had so many dudes…replying..here
Mark, post urs, lets see how many chicks reply back ;)
Why can’t we eve accept any criticism about Kuwait? We just go crazy and become all sensitive and emotional and aggressive, responding by trying to kick everyone out of the country if they don’t like it, while we can’t survive without those expats who build stuff for us, maintain it, and provide services that none of us would be willing to do. Would a Kuwaitie pick up your garbage? In the US americans do, in europe, europeans do.
Zoho,
Where do you get off making such arrogant remarks! I think you are way, way, way, out of line and way, way, way over-reacting to Nat’s “I do not feel that great to be back so soon”. Nat’s remarks are after all everyone’s natural reaction when they come back from ANY vacation, don’t you agree? I think you have lost a grip on reality, dude! Looks like the first few days of 2007 have been real rough to you!
Zoho, please also remember that this is a blog and everyone is entitled to share their opinion openly. That is the whole point of a blog. We’re not at somebody’s home or diwaniya here!
May I also remind you that this is Mark & Nat’s Blog and that your hosts are Mark & Nat. YOU are the guest here in this case and you’ve severely criticised your host! Maybe you should review your comments….
Peace
I agree that I’ve seen so many beautiful arabs women here (not sure whether they are Kuwaitis or Lebanesse or whateva). But I don’t agree if someone says in general these women are well-dressed. Expensive yes. But it’s also excessively tasteless (is it considered rude to say ‘tasteless’??). The tons of make up hide their beautiful features, too much of everything is never chic.
Well, there are the ones who are supposed to wear M but, they stick to S or XS.
Same goes to the boys :P
