Shopping for Dog Stuff

Mark and I have been shopping for our dog before he comes and it has been quite fun so far. We’ve purchased some of the basic stuff such as a collar and leash, water and feeding bowl, large pillow, etc.. yet we still have a lot of things still to get. Yesterday when browsing amazon for some more dog related products Mark found this really cool electronic dog tag. It’s really nice, could be worn on our dog’s collar just like a metal tag, but does so much more and its water proof! The tag can hold a lot of info, up to 40 lines of data can be stored such as the name, address, cell phone numbers, as well as allergies & vaccines. It seems like the ultimate dog tag for our Geo in case some how we lose him. [Amazon Link]

Another thing we found was a cool looking clicker.

The clicker is a very useful tool used when training the dog. Basically whenever you’re teaching your dog something and he manages to do it right, you click once as an affirmation that he just did a good thing followed by a tidbit. The clicker would be used throughout the training until the dog fully acknowledges the commands given to him. [Amazon Link]

Thirteen days are left till our Geo gets here, but it seems like it’s taking ages. We’re both really overexcited, I personally am counting the hours till my dog gets here safe without any problems.

Mark, Do you have any information on Dog Trainers in Kuwait? Where they are located, or will they come home…how much is the fees etc…?

  2. Mark says:

    I was recommended http://www.ivhq8.com/

They have info on their site about training.

  3. Q8TECHDRIVE says:

Thanks Mark! What do you think? are they costly?

  4. Mark says:

they are costly but i have dealt with cheaper vets here in Kuwait and I really didn’t like the experience. I have yet to try IVH but I will be trying them soon once my dog arrives.

Hi — ideally you click right at the instant your dog does what you want, for example just as he sits or lies down. That tells him what it is that he has done that you are pleased about. For more clicker training tips, please visit my website training-dogs.com.

Hello Sir Mark, i was wondering if you know any place that i can get a clicker from for my puppy, i’ve tried almost every website available and it’s says “We’re sorry we cannot ship this item to your destination” so if you kindly know any Store here in Kuwait, or any website that would ship it here kindly tell me, thank you

  13. Salem says:

And Aswell For the Dog-e-Tag, thanks.

  14. gee says:

hii.. where can i buy dog supplies such as dog carriers in kuwait?? dog beds? dog pads and odor perfume that are designed for dogs?..
plus r there any pet shops u may know that sells those kind of stuff?

  15. Nat says:

well sultan center has a small selection of dog food and dog products. But u will find the biggest selection for dogs and cats and such in ACE hardware in Shuwaikh (near al ghanem and avenues mall).

  16. gee says:

    thank u nat!
i heard truevalue do sell some stuff.. but which do u recommend? the ACE or true value? i have never visited the ACE.

  17. Nat says:

Well i’ve been to True Value once and they only have a small selection of pet stuff.. however u might find some interesting treats there than neither sultan or Ace has. However Ace has the largest selection of pet supplies, including food, toys, matresses, bones, pet care products, etc.. So i definitely recommend Ace.
