Shopping for Dog Stuff
Mark and I have been shopping for our dog before he comes and it has been quite fun so far. We’ve purchased some of the basic stuff such as a collar and leash, water and feeding bowl, large pillow, etc.. yet we still have a lot of things still to get. Yesterday when browsing amazon for some more dog related products Mark found this really cool electronic dog tag. It’s really nice, could be worn on our dog’s collar just like a metal tag, but does so much more and its water proof! The tag can hold a lot of info, up to 40 lines of data can be stored such as the name, address, cell phone numbers, as well as allergies & vaccines. It seems like the ultimate dog tag for our Geo in case some how we lose him. [Amazon Link]
Another thing we found was a cool looking clicker.
The clicker is a very useful tool used when training the dog. Basically whenever you’re teaching your dog something and he manages to do it right, you click once as an affirmation that he just did a good thing followed by a tidbit. The clicker would be used throughout the training until the dog fully acknowledges the commands given to him. [Amazon Link]
Thirteen days are left till our Geo gets here, but it seems like it’s taking ages. We’re both really overexcited, I personally am counting the hours till my dog gets here safe without any problems.

Thanks Mark! What do you think? are they costly?

they are costly but i have dealt with cheaper vets here in Kuwait and I really didn’t like the experience. I have yet to try IVH but I will be trying them soon once my dog arrives.

Hi — ideally you click right at the instant your dog does what you want, for example just as he sits or lies down. That tells him what it is that he has done that you are pleased about. For more clicker training tips, please visit my website training-dogs.com.
