i am coming from holland to dubai in few days, anyone can tell me how to find a room at a decent rent. I am coming to find work.

Yeh, and Dubai is Beirut minus the bombed out buildings, minus Da7ieh, minus all the political garbage with its associated politically garbage people. And Dubai has A LOT of not so charming lebanese people, I might add.

Scuze me but Dubai is no where close to being like Beirut , let alone Beirut on steroids, prolly bad expired steroids. Sure Dubai is fun and nice and all but it is simply PLASTIC so to make a fair comparison, Dubai is Beirut minus the nice people, minus the heritage minus the unique charm etc.. etc..

I was just about to post some late nite emergency phone numbers when I realised that it is not Mark but Nat’s thread.

So Nat. Only interesting spot at Rotana Towers which is “off” Sheikh Zayed road is the Lebanese niteclub with the Brazilian bellydancer which I assume is not your cup of tea. You should go instead to Emirates Tower where all the media congregates either at The Agency winebar or Vu top panoramic bar. Any restaurant is good and I suggest the Japanese one Tkyo@thetowers.
The niteclub for well behaved married girls would be Kazbar at the Royal Mirage.
You should visit Madinat Jumeirah which really summarize Dubai as they have a multitude of shops restaurants and niteclubs.
Failing all that, just take a taxi to the Gold Souk and I am sure Mark will be more than happy to pay the bills.
As for shopping, all is the same and Burjuman or Wafi or whatever are tops.

Have fun and brace yourself cause Dubai is Beirut on steroids!
