Naming Our Dog
Me and Mark first thought about choosing a Belgian name for our dog as a reminder of his roots but then our breeder contacted us yesterday telling us that this year, the dog’s name should start with the letter “E”. It seems that every year he names his pups starting with a certain letter to keep track of his litters or something. However being limited to the letter “E” now made our job even harder since not a lot of cool names start with “E”. Mark has EZEKIEL in mind so far which is not a bad name except that i find it a bit heavy to pronounce or call out. It would be great If any of you guys have any good suggestions on what we could name our dog. The name doesn’t have to be Belgian anymore any cool suggestion would do.
Update: we talked again to our breeder yesterday asking him if it was possible not to have the name start with “E” so he told us that we could actually name our dog whatever we want like lets say devil then just add the letter e in front of it for registration purposes. So devil becomes edevil and we could just call the dog devil which would give us a lot more choices. We still have to come up with a good name though.

my two favorite names were Ezekiel (my favorite brand of clothing) and Enzo. Problem with Enzo is that Ferrari are using it and people will think I called the dog after the car.

I had a dog from a European breeder who was on the ‘E’ kick as well - they called her Ekoss. I have no idea what that name means but I liked it.

I guess this “every new litter a different letter” thing is common with breeders in Europe.
Ekoss to me sounds like “eh koss” which means “yeah cunt” in Lebanese lol
29. Mark | November 30th, 2005 at 4:59 pm

time for another drink, and if I think of more I’ll put them up.. our two are called Gnasher and Phoebe and both were not my choice, so I just call them stoopid and stoopider and it seems to work, they do like the “s” in a dog’s name so that it grabs their attention!
Good luck and congrats. I hope you have many years of fun together.

The diminutive of Ezekiel is “Zeke” (pronounced Zeek) which is not hard to pronounce. Your dog can be given an official name starting with “E” for the registration papers, but you can call him/her anything you wish. My dog is officially registered as “Sarah’s Humphrey of Mellowdown” but we call her “Shadow” ’cause she is black.
38. Lara | November 30th, 2005 at 10:38 pm
How about Esie (pronounced eh-zee)? Can be short for Ezekiel which is a great name.
Name Ezekiel
Gender male
Origin Hebrew
Meaning strength of God
