Optimus Designs - Funkyture

Optimus Designs is a an entrepreneurial architecture company which is established by three young Kuwaiti architects. Last year they had an event called Funkyture where they displayed and sold furniture that they designed and manufactured themselves. They have some really creative original designs with a taste of their own. It was a very successful event last year and it is being repeated this year, I really recommend everyone to go check it out if you want to see something different. They can even design some furniture for you if you have something specific in mind. They have done houses and offices, interior design and architectural design. Take a look at the link for pictures of their previous event.

Not too bad. It needs more vision, though.

sar7an: Check it out you would be surprised!
N: lol!
Tango: There are some design oriented items, and there are some practical items. Go check out before you decide!
fabio: Karim is out there, have you seen the hotel he designed, just something else. Optimus is a lot more practical and they are young people just starting out, I think supporting them would be good!

fabio, The craftsmanship these aspiring guys have available to them here in Kuwait in not nearly in par with that of which is available to Karim. Give them a break and applaud the effort or criticize it! We got it, you know who Karim Rashid is.

Im not that impressed. The quality of some of the stuff is appalling to put it bluntly. This for example is shockingly bad. http://www.optimus-designs.com/Funkyture/funky_09.htm It has the finish quality, over all design and visual aesthetics of a high school project. This on the other hand is the complete opposite http://www.optimus-designs.com/Funkyture/funky_14.htm and would seriously consider buying it. The rest of the stuff is bland and non descript. and i agree the photos are terible. If i was advertising my company i would make sure the pictures were of a good quality but more importantly i would take enough pride in a creation of mine to arrange a profesional photographer or at least a semi decent camera. Sorry for being so negative.

Uturn The craftsmanship these aspiring guys have available to them here in Kuwait in not nearly in par with that of which is available to Karim. Excuse me ????!!!! u make it ur self, and u keep on doing it till it is right and the way u want it. This is the key 2 success.
Maybe they do need to arrange for a profesional photographer and expose their work.
